Scenes From My Desk Part 11

You ever heard Bob Dylan's, 'Boots of Spanish Leather'?

I performed that song at Marakoopa Cafe earlier this year. Afterwards, the owner asked me what size shoe I was...

Turns out he is a Dylan fan too. Once, many years ago, he was backpacking through Europe and decided to travel to Spain with the intention of buying some boots of Spanish leather.

He ended up on a train beside a passenger whom he found so disagreeable that he disembarked in Portugal, where he purchased boots of Portugese leather as the next best thing.

They're handmade, with real nails in the soles and a neat little metal bit around the heel. They clip and clop without shame, and I love them.

But yeah, boots of Portugese leather. Gifted to me by the very generous and genial Lars of Marakoopa Cafe. Thank you, Lars!

(Speaking of donations, have I mentioned I'm crowdfunding my new record? Folks like you have helped me raise 26% of my goal. You deserve free boots. Mwah. Link in comments.)

Tasmania, our hearts (and bellies!) are full. Thanks for a wonderful weekend of packed venues, good food and even better company! ❤️
Thank you so much to Lars, Sarah & family for a beautiful night and looking after us so well at the gorgeous Marakoopa Cafe, to Fraser for great sound (and conversation!), all the fabulous folks who came along and, of course, to the divine Paper Souls for a glorious set. We were so moved and inspired! And thanks so much to Blaise and all the staff at MONA for catering to our every need at today's show. Many thanks to all who spent their afternoon with us, we had a ball! 💃🕺
