Thank you to everyone who supported us by attending a playgroup or pop-up over the last 7 months. We've had the best time giving this little small business ago! Unfortunately, we've made the decision to go back to work as the cost of living will only keep rising.

We will be doing pop-ups randomly or when we get enough booking requests on fridays throughout February and while the weather is good and we will still be offering parties. Please keep an eye out on our socials for pop-up dates.

We've made some amazing friends & met some beautiful mothers along the way and appreciate all the support so much ❤️

Oobleck!
Such a fun messy play that can be used for colour mixing and experimenting with how it is both a solid and a liquid! 🤯
This can easily be made at home using 1 cup cornflour and 3/4 cup water mixed with food colouring
Spice it up and add some edible glitter!
Such a fun versatile messy play recipe that kids (and adults shh) love!

One of our messiest trays! How much fun was this!?

Playing with chia seeds, jelly & tapioca pearls can offer several benefits, especially in a sensory play context:

1. **Sensory Exploration:** Chia seeds, jelly & tapioca pearls have unique textures, allowing children to explore different sensations through touch. This sensory play promotes tactile awareness and stimulation.

2. **Fine Motor Skills:** Manipulating and handling small objects like chia seeds and tapioca pearls can enhance fine motor skills in children as they pinch, squeeze, and pick up these tiny items.

3. **Creativity and Imagination:** These materials can be used in various creative ways, encouraging imaginative play. Children can create patterns, shapes, or even use them in pretend play scenarios, fostering creativity.

4. **Language Development:** During play, children may engage in conversation, describing the textures, shapes, or colors they observe. This verbal interaction supports language development and communication skills.

5. **Calming Effect:** The tactile experience of playing with chia and tapioca can have a calming effect, providing a soothing and stress-relieving activity for children.

6. **Scientific Exploration:** Introducing these materials can spark curiosity about how they change when wet or mixed with water. This can lead to simple science experiments, teaching children about absorption and texture changes.

7. **Focus and Concentration:** Engaging in activities with chia and tapioca can promote focus and concentration as children pay attention to the details of their play, enhancing cognitive skills.

8. **Messy Play Benefits:** While it might seem messy, allowing children to explore these textures in a controlled environment supports the development of sensory integration and tolerance for different textures.

Why choose a playgroup, you may ask? There are so many benefits, and not just for children!

Family playgroups provide numerous benefits, including:

1. **Social Development:** Children learn essential social skills through interaction with peers and adults in a group setting, fostering communication and cooperation.

2. **Emotional Support:** Family playgroups create a supportive environment where both children and parents can share experiences, seek advice, and build a sense of community.

3. **Parental Bonding:** Playgroups offer opportunities for parents to bond with their children through shared activities, strengthening the parent-child relationship.

4. **Cognitive Development:** Group play activities stimulate cognitive skills such as problem-solving, creativity, and language development in children.

5. **Diversity Exposure:** Children encounter diversity in a playgroup setting, promoting tolerance and understanding of different cultures, backgrounds, and abilities.

6. **Routine and Structure:** Regular playgroup sessions can provide a sense of routine and structure for both children and parents, contributing to a stable and predictable environment.

7. **Physical Development:** Playgroups often include physical activities that promote gross motor skills and overall physical development in children.

8. **Community Building:** Families in playgroups often form lasting connections, creating a supportive network for parents and opportunities for children to build friendships.

9. **Early Learning Opportunities:** Playgroups can incorporate educational elements, introducing children to early learning concepts in a fun and interactive way.

10. **Preparation for School:** Participation in playgroups helps children transition to a more structured learning environment as they get accustomed to group dynamics and routines.

Overall, family playgroups contribute to the holistic development of children and provide a valuable support system for parents.
