Summer is slipping into the cutting garden, one bloom at a time!

Every day something new opens.
The colours are louder, the stems are taller, and the bouquets are already dreaming of where they’ll be headed next ✨

It’s been a while!

Hi 👋🏼 I’m Nic, the flower grower, florist and quiet creative behind Floralique. Most days you’ll find me knee deep in dirt and flowers or chasing pests and caterpillars at the moment! 🐛
When I’m not working with flowers, I’m probably at the beach engrossed in a good podcast (FAVE right now: Diary of a CEO) or a good book (Currently: Demon Copperhead). I also love photography and have invested in some cool vintage film cameras. 📷

Lately, I’ve fallen in love with journalling (it’s more memory keeping). I found the best little photo printer! It’s a way to slow down and keep little snapshots of life all in one place. Life’s moving way too fast for me to recall! 😜 Does anyone here journal? 📓

Floralique is where my ‘loves’ all come together for me…nature, creativity, colour and calm.

Anyway, thanks for being here, it’s nice to have the company! 😄

For Elaine 💕

THE BRIEF: Bright pops of colour with cream & blush, garden-style with some Australian natives.

There’s a lot of variety in this one. I was still able to add some sweet peas, roses, freesias and poppies from the cutting garden which made me happy! 🪏

Natives: Flannel flower, wax flower and orange pincushion.

I may be a couple of wines in but I am so appreciative of the opportunities that have come my way since I decided to start growing cut flowers. Today was just one of them. Creating a floral embrace at ground level, full of movement and texture, perfectly framing the moment two hearts become one. It just makes my heart melt!

Thank you to for the idea to wear my apron, when she arrived at my home to for me, looking all adorable in hers! Such great company too. 🫶🏼

A big congratulations to Georgie + Harry on their big weekend of celebrating their marriage. I appreciate how Georgie trusted me right from the start. It was such a pleasure. 🥰

I’m just a little giddy is all.

A new floral story for Amy + Nisa 🤎

I needed this arbour design to feel earthy, textured & romantic with those rich, warm roses at the heart of it all. (I even foraged rustic elements to enhance the overall aesthetic!)

Watching it transform from buckets of flowers, into a backdrop for their vows, was such a joy! An honour to create for such a beautiful day.

A big thank you to Ellie for installing it and sending me pics!

This season’s have been incredible! It has been such a pleasure to share them. Many people are surprised by their vase life. Poppies can last a good week when harvested at the right stage, catching them before pollinators reach them. I always ensure some are left in the garden for the bees which are quick to collect the pollen once the blooms open.

For best vase life, I recommend;
🧡 Re-cut stems every second day.
💛 Seal the stem ends by briefly singeing with a lighter or dipping into hot water for a few seconds.
🩷Return immediately to fresh cool water.
♥️ Keep them cool and out of any breezes from open windows/doors.

Voila! You can enjoy the beauty of poppies for much longer indoors.
