❤️ If you can only have one person your team for your wedding, make it Emma. We first reached out to Emma for her on-the-day-coordination package because our wedding venue was renovating the space we had originally booked. These renovations were unlikely to be complete by our wedding date (and they weren’t), so we shifted our plans to another, larger part of the venue. Emma had great ideas on how to fill the new space, include greenery that made it look much nicer, and recommended a great photobooth vendor that was one of the highlights of the night. Thanks to Emma’s help, we were happier than we would have been even with the original space we had booked. Additionally, her in-depth knowledge also helped us save money in other areas, so again - she’s definitely worth it! All of the above would have been more than enough reason to hire Emma, but we also managed to catch COVID 12 days before our wedding. We were confident knowing we didn’t have to worry about last minute wedding stuff, because Emma had already communicated with our vendors and was on top of everything. Thanks to Emma, the day went flawlessly and all her styling looked amazing. Emma went above and beyond at every point in our wedding journey.

1) They had a first look at Botanic Gardens and included their family - which meant they had gorgeous portraits by but also more time at their reception with their guests.

2) Sustainability in their florals - Succulents they could replant at home from their bouquets . They also had cute pots with succulents for their centrepieces that they gave to guests at the end of the night. Check out

3) They had Odd numbers in their wedding party

7) They weren't stressed. Having someone else know all the detail like a Wedding Coordinator aka =me on the day and then trusting your supplier team to deliver their service means you can relax and enjoy

8) No first dance 💃 instead they opened the dance floor with having a shot each and declaring it open for guests who wanted to dance

Wowsers Happy New Year! 2022 it was huge and full of amazing couples just like Nic and Matt pictured , their gorgeous families, friends and stellar suppliers.

Matt & Nic really did things their way. They had a brilliant ceremony - thanks to Nat. Their ceremony was in their weather plan back up location because Melbourne weather can sometimes be sunshine and then rain, then sunshine then rain 🤣😂. They had a day focused on their love for one another, their families, friends and their beautiful dog.

Back at it tomorrow so I’ve been quiet having some family time, in between pick up and organising details for tomorrow. So excited to be back this week then off for some more R & R with the family. I wanted to reflect on the year that was 2022 but I think I need just a little more time to gather my thoughts and focus on what I want 2023 to look like for me. Okay let’s talk getting ready -
⏱What time will your photographer arrive? If you’re having getting ready photos, photographers usually ask for make up and hair to be completed by then so they can come in and start taking images. Make sure you ask your photographer what time this will be and let your make up and hair stylist know the completion time so they can work backwards. When you initially book in your make up or hair, you probably haven’t factor this timing in so it’s important to confirm this in advance closer to your wedding day with your make up and hair team.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💄As well as time to be completed by, make sure you let your make up artist & hair stylist know how many people that are having hair and make up. As they may need to bring an assistant depending on your completion time and how many faces or hair styles or start earlier than when you first booked in.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👱‍♀️ check with your hairstylist how you need to prepare your hair the night before the wedding. So when they arrive it’s ready to go.

🍳 Schedule a big hearty breakfast before you get into hair and make up preparation as it’s a long day. I see a lot of couples skipping food at their reception when they’ve hardly had a thing to eat all day. Make sure you schedule eating throughout the day and night in your timeline

😌 Create a calm environment to get ready in with lots of natural light for your make up artist

Surprise wedding - yep Rachael and Brett absolutely nailed their surprise wedding to their guests!

Here’s a few things that they did which I think nailed the surprise.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤️They still had an intimate wedding party that knew so they could enjoy the lead up with them, get excited and get ready with them during the morning whilst having their photos
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤️They selected a venue where the room could be adapted very quickly set up for a cocktail party to a ceremony space. Or outside if the weather permitted. They also were able to get ready on the homestead there and not visible to guests.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤️Their guests thought they were arriving to an engagement party. So they had a cake with a cake topper that had engaged and then changed after.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤️They let guests know that they would be having speeches at a certain time to avoid as many guests as possible turning up late
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤️Their amazing celebrant made me laugh so much pretending to be one of the wait staff.

The look on all of their guests faces was priceless. It gave me goosebumps when they announced it and when Rachael walked down the aisle. Although surprises up the stress levels 😳 Rachael and Brett did it their way made it more unique and planned it seamlessly. It was just a brilliant day and night.

Miranda and Alice
This weekend, I get to see Miranda and Alice again as wedding guests. I was so grateful to coordinate their wedding back in May. Now I get the pleasure of helping two of their friends celebrate their wedding day. So excited!

I suspect there are many other things that they did on the day that we don't even know about. Adrienne and Riley were my dream full planning clients
- They allowed me to research and recommend the best suppliers for their vision.
- They did have in mind a couple of suppliers and then they allowed me to find them suitable suppliers for other elements
- They let me worry about the details on the day and just enjoyed every moment

1. Bridesmaids in all white - loved it
2. Odd numbers in their wedding party- who said it has to be even numbers on each side, it's about the energy. Their entrance into reception was everything!
4. They brought a touch of Perth to Melbourne - selecting local Perth beers to be served and combining them with epic Prince deck cocktails and canapés
5. Music - I mean it's essential when throwing an epic celebration to have great music. The tunes started from cocktail hour on the deck with guests dancing to Jerome then into the late night with Eddy having everyone on the dance floor for hours

7. Entertain - everyone loves a photo-booth and nailed it!

GEN & JARROD'S Private Property Wedding
After a postponement, they finally got to say I do! I mean planning a wedding during a pandemic is not so much fun but those smiles are oh so worth it. Gen & Jarrod rode the rollercoaster of covid. I helped them to reschedule their day with their epic supplier team. Our first site visit was in the blank canvas family farm space then to arrive for my next meeting to an incredible house and the most amazing shed built by Gen's dad to host their ceremony and reception less than a year later. I was honestly blown away on my 2nd site visit. By the time their wedding day came around, it felt like I was coordinating a friend of my family's wedding. I don't take for granted being a part of your special day, in your personal space on your day and even lucky enough to be welcomed into your family home.

What time should we start our ceremony? So many things to consider but one thing that I find that is sometimes overlooked is your wedding budget.

Here’s so more questions I ask my couples to help determine -
- what time do you have access to the venue? This will sometimes determine your ceremony time

- does the access time and ceremony time allow your supplier team enough time to set up?

- are you having your ceremony and reception at the same venue.
If you’re having it in a different location, a break in between your ceremony and reception for wedding party photos and portraits allows you to start your reception a little later and enjoy the reception with your guests.

-reception package - if you’re holding at the same venue how longs your reception package? Do you need to extend it and what’s does that look like with your budget and costs? If it’s at a private property keep in mind your staff costs for catering and drinks

- Lighting for photos - is also an important element.
