As a contractor with trucks, cranes and other equipment in Mossman we appreciate that recovery agencies and local Douglas shire council and Ergon have been using local contractors where possible. I am still dumbfounded from a conversation yesterday where I found a 25t franna is being trucked from Adelaide to Bloomfield to unload humanihut emergency housing. We have suitable machinery as well as most other crane companies in fnq! Which government agency makes these nonsense decisions and who pays for them??? Money spent hiring local contractors stays local to support our community recovery!
