Ladies Come and Try Golf completion certification.

The club has been conducting four Ladies Come and try sessions a week, two on Thursdays and two on Sundays. On Sunday, the last sessions were completed and all participants were awarded a completion certificate.

Well done to everyone who participated and to all the club members who helped make this a success.

Yesterday the club hosted the annual Ladies Christmas lunch day.

The best dressed team went to Bernie Gatehouse, Judy Crowley, Lesley Perrin and Simone Coonan with runners up being Jan Hawes, Bev Bayliss, Kath Langbein and Gerry Cohen. Best dressed individual went to Tracey White.

Thank you to all that helped out with making the day a huge success.

As you can see, an excellent show of support from our members, it looks like the day was filled with lots of fun.

Junior Golf Girls Scholarship Program 2025

Do you have a junior aged girl who would be interested in learning about and playing golf?

The girls scholarship program is for designed for girls aged 9 to 16 years old.

The program consists of twenty-four, fully funded sessions of group tuition, sessions will run on a weekly or fortnightly basis with a registered PGA professional and/or qualified Community Instructor. Each session will run for a minimum of 1 hour.

Times and dates will be determined once numbers have been established.

The course aims to provide an introduction on the basics of golf, to build skills with proper guidance plus get participants out on course and playing with a handicap.

Connection, friendship, fun and the support of the club are important aspects of this innovative program.

At the program’s conclusion, the club will host a graduation ceremony to congratulate girls on their achievement.

Today the club hosted the annual Woodbark Day held between the women’s teams at Aston Hills Golf Club and Blackwood Golf Club. The competition was played in great spirits, with results coming down to the wire. Our women’s team managed to win back the trophy for the first time since 2018! Hole 12 Par 3 White 153m S.I 8 Gold 141m S.I 15 A tricky par 3 with bunkers left and right. The green slopes left to right making it a difficult green to hold. Do you go for it from the tee or land it short and run it up?

Hole 10 White 253m Par 4 S.I 15 Gold 243m Par 4 S.I 13 A short par 4 with a dog-leg right. Don't be fooled by the short distance. This hole is fraught with danger. Some will take driver and cut it over the corner. The safe play is short of the creek and a short iron approach. A two-tier green requires accuracy on approach and skilled chipping to a raised green. If you walk away with par here you've done very well.
