Growing lambs to fill your freezer? Get the full paddock-to-plate experience and learn how to process it yourself! 🐑 🥩

In this FREE half-day workshop, you’ll learn the basics of breaking down a lamb in a demonstration by local butcher Clint Ramien from S & S Meats Mudgee.

Our ag team will be on hand to chat about condition and fat scoring your lambs, as well as the responsibilities you have as a livestock owner.

Complete the day with a BBQ lunch, catch up with your neighbours and get to know your community.

Today we celebrate International Volunteers Day and recognise the invaluable contribution volunteers make to our organisation.
Did you know AREC is run by a volunteer Board of 7 Directors? We also have a small group of volunteers that undertake various tasks at the Field Days.
With the average age of volunteers increasing, we’re always on the lookout for new volunteers.

Zenith Music Festival Statement

AREC is a self-funded, not-for-profit, community organisation. AREC is a great facility with the potential for many more uses. We’d love to see a wider variety of hirers utilise the site for the benefit of the community.

AREC saw the Zenith music festival as an opportunity to diversify its income and events offered. However, due to the noise levels and late finishing times, the event has upset many in our community. This was not our intention and we apologise for that.

As part of Zenith approaching AREC to host the event, Zenith were required to apply to modify our DA, which included an acoustics report, as our DA would not cover the proposed event. This application followed the DA process, was put on public display and was later approved.

AREC take feedback very seriously and the wellbeing of the community is central to our decision making and ongoing development. All future events will be assessed with its impact on the community. With regards to the Zenith music festival, this will not be hosted by AREC again.
