This morning I woke up to the very humbling and exciting news that my Embelina DJ website has been featured in a recent Bandzoogle blog.

Julia from Bandzoogle wrote:

After another amazing Nudge Nudge Wink Wink by Cunning Stunts last night, this morning I felt inspired to record the mix (or close enough).

This mix is a journey from deep house into tasty garage, to disco and vocal house, with a sneaky foray into indie dance and a splash of tech house.

There are loads more vocals in this mix than my usual vibe and it's shamelessly loaded with remixes of classic tracks from artists such as Sade and Queen.

I'm proudly showcasing some epic Australian producers here: - The Aston Shuffle, RÜFÜS DU SOL and Follow The Fish; along with an old friend of mine from the UK, Marcello AKA Birdee, who is crushing it as a nu-disco producer and globe-trotting DJ!

Also excited to include female DJ/Producer J. Worra from USA and 19-year-old vocalist Julia Kleijn from the Netherlands.

This mix is dedicated to someone who came into my life and made a nuclear impact. The final track 'Echo' sums up the lingering feels. 🖤

What a night! Thanks so much Cunning Stunts for having me play at Nudge Nudge Wink Wink again.

What an experience to play music that I love and have people cheer for me at the end of my set. 🤩⚡️

Lord Sut and DJ Dale Stephen once again their sets were intergalactic. My two favourite DJs, consistently delivering lush soundscapes that dreams are made of.

DJ JASON DIGBY who even are you!? That set was next level! I felt like I was in another dimension. Just incredible.

In May 2021, I made my debut at the infamous Nudge Nudge Wink Wink party in the Northern Rivers of NSW.

I played the warm up set and went on a super fun-tastic journey through funk, nu-disco, deep house and funky house with a hint of indie dance. I've just uploaded the set to Mixcloud so you can relive the party with me!!

When I was a little miss, I loved the story of Thumbelina the tiny little fairy princess who lived in a flower.

In my 20s I acquired the nickname Embelina due to my diminutive stature.

In the early 00's I was DJ Tigerlily, but there's a well known Aussie DJ Tigerlily now, so I decided to return to the story that delighted me as a child.

What was your childhood nickname?

Found this tasty clip of MC Xander working his magic at the end of one of the Chew the Fat parties at The End in London.

This would have been around 5am when the party finished, circa 2005. This particular party featured DJs Paul Arnold, Friendly and Bushwacka.
