AGR428 20-26 January:
Artist Spotlight Intro:
Barely minutes from boarding a plane in Vanuatu to fly home for Christmas, Andy & Sharny Chapman headed for cover instead as a 7.4 magnitude earthquake rocked the island nation. The next several hours were spent amongst their island people, ensuring people were safe and supporting the immediate recovery processes. They did make it back safely to Australia and have a plethora of stories to share when they return to at Live@The Chapel Nambour on 1 Feb. We’ll tell you how you can enjoy L@TCN wherever you are a little later. Andy’s latest single Habitual Blues is doing very well - the single recorded in the studio of Darin Browne on the Sunshine Coast - comes along shortly but we kick off the AS with a track from Andy’s debut release ‘Everyone’s A Model from 2001. In The Land Of The Living with Andy Chapman in the AS.

AGR428 20-26 January:
Artist Spotlight Outro:
Habitual Blues ft.Darin Browne wraps up the AS revisit with Andy Chapman this week on AG which we began with In The Land Of The Living. As mentioned, Andy returns by popular demand to Live@The Chapel Nambour on 1 Feb supported by Flame Tree Church Pastor Stu White. Anyone near the Sunshine Coast can attend the free concert event at Ignite Church Auditorium, Short St Nambour but if you are not in the area, you can log onto the LATCNambour FB page to enjoy the live stream. I’m very keen to hear a story or two of the earthquake and the Chapman’s support efforts as well as their eventual escape home for Christmas. You can support the Chapman’s Vanuatu mission throught the links on Andy’s page on the AGR dot com AD.

COME hear the full story with favourite tunes and maybe a couple of newies, Andy & Sharny Chapman supported by Stu White Music tonight from 6, Ignite Auditorium, Short St, Nambour (next to Jetts)

SAVE THE DATE:
Saturday 1 February 2025

Live at the Chapel Nambour returns for the 2025 season with Andy & Sharny Chapman safely back from Vanuatu, supported by former Chappie and Flame Tree pastor Stu White Music.

Here's a little of the Chapman's adventures from December:
"Were (sic) alive.!! We missed the flight due to the airport collapsing. We were about to board when the earthquake shook. 7.4. A BIG ONE. The building collapsed and we got out just in time.

The Tsunami didn't come.
PRAISE GOD!! The main area effected was in town when the streets were filled with Christmas shoppers. I heard on my walk this morning 24 confirmed dead! 200 injured and counting. the baby humidicribs fell down in hospital. The hospital is treating people in the car park and using the VMF camp as a make shift hospital. Its so so so hot here. The warf rd is still digging up buses from the landslide. Its been 3 days and no electricity or communication. We have a water tank at the house and people coming to fill up bottles. The petrol bowser cue goes for ages and ages. I stood in line for hrs to fill up our plastic jerry cans and heard many stories. A mum holding her sons hand until his last breath, him under rubble and her outside. A mum and daughter rescued after 3 days under rubble but the son died. I feel so emotional writing this. Andys birthday yesterday !! So we cooked the last of the food in our fridge...which had been off for 3 days so we made a big BUNYA , his favourite!!! And gave food to anyone around who was hungry!.

Thats it...nothing left in the fridge- at least I cleaned it !!. Oh .. I had some warm tuskers to take to the boys in OZ for Christmas.... Andy and friends drank them warm,. Sorry boys! I have some rice left and we have some tins of tuna left. A lot of jars smashed on the floor and the fridge contents fell everywhere. Lots of broken things in the house, but were (sic) ok. Lots of clean up to be done.

People are scared!! There have false tsumani alerts which perpetuates fear. Were trying to stay positive but sometimes I cry! I hope to see my grandchildren before Christmas. Please pray for that if you are a believer. I now God is still in control. People... make your peace with our maker. You never know when your time on earth is up! Eternity with Him is the better alternative!

If I dont respond to your messages, its because.... Im in the spa having a massage (NOT!) hehe.

We have found a place at vanuatu with WIFI and solar. A short walk from our house.

Please continue to pray for the beloved Nation of Vanuatu." -Sharny Chapman, FB, 20 December 2024
