For those of you who have not met me before my name is Irene May Jacobs.
16 years ago I married my soulmate,Wayne. We planned our wedding day. Our family traveled from Adelaide and New Zealand to share the day with us. We couldn’t have been happier.
We had chosen a beautiful garden for our wedding ceremony and our reception was being held in our favorite venue. Everything was perfect.
Here’s the thing, when Wayne and I married the only thing our Celerant managed to get right was our names. The Celebrant had used someone else's ceremony in its entirety and just slotted our names in. There was not one element of the ceremony that we had agreed to. Our family and friends were confused and I feel certain that the couple who had our ceremony would have been equally as confused. Even our vows were wrong
Ok at the end of the day we were married. When we did get home we shared our vows.
10 years ago our daughter was married barefoot on the beach at beautiful Hamilton Island. Her ceremony was perfect, but when they went to sign the documentation they discovered that her name was spelt incorrectly on the Marriage certificate.
That was disappointing for them both.
When friends married the same year, their celebrant arrived after most of the guests and wasn’t at all prepared. Fortunately, it was before the bride arrived so not quite as stressful as it could have been.
Your wedding is something you imagine in every detail and is one of the most important days of your life. You deserve to have someone marry you who values what you want and will do everything they can to make it happen.
I have always loved exploring different ceremonies and weddings in different cultures. 5 years ago I put my love of weddings into practice and gained my certificate IV in celebrancy.
I was appointed by the Attorney General as an Authorised Marriage Celebrant.
I have continued to also support an organisation in the not-for-profit sector, but It is in my time marrying couples that I love the most.
Being able to work with couples like you to bring your dreams that you have for your wedding ceremony to life.
Being present when you are saying your vows to each other is Pure Magic.
The look in your eyes and the love that surrounds you is beautiful.
And that is exactly why I decided to dedicate my life to marrying wonderful people.
But during the past 5 years I have discovered that there was a major problem when people are planning their wedding.
Some couples get overwhelmed by what is involved in planning.
Some choose ceremony locations where the people that they want to share the day with most are unable to access.
Others have a bucket load of regret running out of money before they were able to include the one thing they wanted most.
Some couples are starting their married life in so much debt that they look back on their wedding day with a black cloud hanging over it.
The government recently changed laws allowing me as a celebrant to now be able to share the secrets to planning your wedding and having fun too
To make planning your wedding as simple as possible I have developed step-by-step tools that you can use to help you include what what is most important to you on your wedding day.
They will empower you to plan your own wedding easily and effectively and save time and money too.
This is something I share with couples I marry.
