Just thought I’d pop on and say hello! 🙋🏻‍♀️🌺 The Celebrant Retreat at Soulshine in Ubud was completely next level! On Saturday I met up with 2 of my besties in Candidasa. 4 fabulous days here before heading to Jimbaran tomorrow. Massages, swimming, Snorkelling 🤿, food and fun. 🍍🍹Getting revitalised for a bumper Wedding season 🧡

Until I became a Celebrant I didn’t realise how popular ‘Legals Only’ Ceremonies were. Some couples want to keep everything as simple as possible and others just want to make things Legal before heading overseas for their Wedding. 🎊

The closest Registry Office for those in Newcastle is Sydney. So why not get married here in our amazing area & skip the travel & traffic?

For $550 I can marry you mid week in the Newcastle area (weekends and further-a-field is a little more).
Maybe on the sand 🏖️, a park 🌳, café ☕️or your own back yard!

Allow her to bust a common misconception… Celebrants don’t just rock up and perform a ceremony for thirty minutes and our work is done. Like other vendors, there is so much other work behind the scenes.

Your information is kept confidential. It’s part of our ethical and legal responsibilities of being a Commonwealth-registered Marriage Celebrant. So no need to worry about your personal information, Wedding plans etc being shared with your 2nd cousin who you didn’t invite to the Wedding😅

Every year we celebrants must polish up our legal knowledge by undertaking OPD assessments from the Attorney General’s Department (sounds serious huh!) - see we are important 😂
The Sassy Celebrants know life is more fun with friends, so yesterday they gathered a group of us awesome celebrants and we learnt heaps, together. 🙌🏼🥂

🌸 I have 10 Brother In laws! 🤣
🌸 When my parents had my youngest sister Jude, they had a newborn, a 1 yr old, 2 yr old and a 3 yr old! All girls and we are all really close 💗
🌸 I absolutely love all things tropical! Fruit 🍍, flowers 🌺, Islands, beaches, Cocktails 🍹…..
🌸 My love languages are quality time and gift giving.
🌸 I was 40 when I had Ruby but I still feel like a young Mum 😅
🌸 I LOVE to travel!!! I have many favourite places but Thailand, Turkey & Tuscany are right at the top 🇮🇹
🌸 I love the Wedding industry 🧡I was a part time Wedding Photographer for 15 years. I swapped my camera for a Mic 🎤 I very much LOVE being a Celebrant!
🌸 I’m a water girl! Swimming, wind surfing, Kayaking or just relaxing in a deep bubble bath….. keeps me happy 😁

Fun fact: To be legally married in Australia, you are required to have 2 x legal witnesses over the age of 18 to sign your certificate of marriage at the time of the ceremony. However .. there are no rules about how you decide who they will be (as long as they meet the required age & consent). 😉

Looking for a tradition at your Wedding that has a symbolic meaning?

A Unity Candle Ceremony 🕯️is a short ritual done during the wedding ceremony to symbolise the joining of two people, or two families, into one. The meaning of a unity candle is to bring together two individuals forming a new family, and as a symbol of their bright future head.

Both members of the couple will light one candle each or receive lit candles from a loved ones eg their Mothers. These candles are usually small and thin, like taper candles. Together, the couple will use their individual candles to light a third candle at the same time. This third candle, called the unity candle, is often larger and wider. It may be plain or have names, date etc on it.

This is not a religious tradition but if you are looking for a spiritual element to include in your ceremony this may be an option for you. Your candle also could be lit on your Anniversary each year 🕯️

This week I dropped in to 10 amazing Wedding Venues in Newcastle‘s CBD…. There are more fabulous options in the CBD for your Wedding… I’ll visit those on another day. 😉 So where did I visit?
🎊 Kingsley Crystalbrook - in the heart of Newcastle 🧡 The Roundhouse Restaurant has absolutely spectacular views and is a glamorous space with accomodation on site.
🎊Fort Scratchley - perfect Summer Venue, good parking and you can have the ceremony overlooking the ocean…iconic Newcastle.
🎊 Newcastle Museum - Heritage listed venue with options for ceremonies and receptions.
🎊Newcastle City Hall - lots of room options, opposite Civic Park and well…it’s City Hall….
🎊Scratchleys - Battlesticks is literally on the water and is a function area with flexibility.
🎊 Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club - a magical spot. Several room choices and for smaller Weddings you can have your Ceremony on the balcony. Stunning. Great parking.
🎊 Novotel - opposite Newcastle Beach. A variety of rooms to choose from. Accomodation on site and close to Pacific Park.
🎊 Peibri Place - The new kid on the block above the Fisherman’s Co-op overlooking the water. P**n ‘Paybree’. Marquee on the balcony, stunning views through the floor to ceiling glass and great parking.
🎊 Noahs - parking and accomodation on site, the views! 🏖️🐋 A variety of options.
🎊 Rydges - was the Crown Plaza. Accomodation on site. Elopement packages. Beautiful environment.
