The Bifrost is coming to Chromatica this Friday at 1pm. Come and hear from some insanely talented people who have had some truly diverse creative careers. Learn about the pitfalls, the mistakes and the first steps that you can take to get into the game.

There will be time after the panel to talk to our guests and each other to build your creative network and ask any of those burning questions you have. Don’t listen or network on an empty stomach though, grab some food at the BBQ and head on up to level 2 of the Q building for some fuelled up knowledge.

Writer and journalist, Alex uses her interviewing and communication skills to deliver accurate and interesting information to a broad audience. A familiar face around Newy, Alex has written for the Newcastle Museum, the Newcastle Herald and more. She’s also been a part of some giants in Newcastle’s creative industries including Headjam and, currently, Newcastle Afoot. If that wasn’t enough, Alex has made a career of organising and hosting events throughout Newcastle.

Ben is a Lecturer at the University of Newcastle, Australia, with a focus on transdisciplinary design and emerging technology, and how the two combined can help us respond to human problems. His work in the creative industries includes design planning and strategy; copywriting and editing; creative and brand consultancy; and market research, specialising in focus group facilitation.

David McDonald is the senior sound designer and audio creative at the ABC's internal creative agency ABC Made. He was a radio producer at triple j for many years, has produced podcasts for the ABC and was also a founder of Jafflechutes the worlds first pop up float down sandwich restaurant. He grew up in Newcastle and started his creative career there in music. He's all for breaking down barriers between disciplines and trying to do things that people say you can't. He recently became a Fellow of the Founding Lab of a new university in Linz Austria. He has a BA in Communications from the University of Newcastle.

Well, the inaugural event for the Bifrost Creative was a success and I can't thank everyone enough!

Our incredible speakers shared their thoughts on what creativity means to them and their industries. They shared their insights into the changing landscape of creativity and the inherently human approach that will always ring true in a world of Artificial intelligence.

Thanks to everyone who came to this first event. It was so great to see everyone socialising and mingling after the panel and I hope I wasn't the only one whose head was filled with new ideas and advice.
