AMY: The story of one brides journey.

Often I meet brides who have no experience with makeup. They don’t wear it except on very rare occasions because they don’t know how to do their own and have occasionally had it done and not enjoyed how it feels heavy on their skin.
Amy was one of these brides. She had recently had a baby and just wanted something really light to make her fresher but nothing heavy. Super natural was my brief. She left her trial feeling happy with the outcome but over time decided maybe she’d like a little more glamour on the day.
Living quite a distance from the hunter she had another artist give her a stronger look for her hens(not pictured). From this we had an email and phone conversation about what she liked about it and she sent me the pics. Her comments were it felt really heavy but Im happy to wear more on the day to get a more substantial look.
I explained that it didn’t have to feel thick and heavy to gain more glamour and detail.

I offered a second trial but because of distance and a new baby she declined stating she TRUSTED me without.
On the day we created the final look, WITHOUT cakey foundation that felt heavy and didn’t let her skin breathe.

Your job is to communicate to us what you like, dislike and how you need it to feel. Look at photos of both the artists work and looks online from others. Chat about how your artist can create those looks to suit your actual skin, colouring and face shape. If they don’t give you advice on colour tones, what different styles will do to your personal features and the types of tweaks they do to recreate a similar style for yourself, then maybe they aren’t as experienced as you need them to be on such a big day.
