The NHRU is responsible for fostering, promoting and control rugby in its area – this includes establishing and maintaining rules, regulations and directions to govern its rugby competitions and the conduct of players, officials and members of clubs and affiliated bodies. There are three associations responsible fo

r rugby union in the Newcastle & Hunter regions:
• the senior men’s competitions are administered by the NHRU and currently comprises of 19 clubs in 2 Divisions (www.nhru.com.au)
• the women’s competition is administered by Newcastle Women’s Rugby Union (http://hunterwomensrugby.wix.com/hwru)
• the juniors competition is administered by Hunter Junior Rugby Union (www.hjru.com.au) with competitions from U7s through to U18s.
