On a side note 🤍

People often ask why I prefer to stand off to the side when delivering a ceremony, and let me tell you ~ there are so many reasons!

First of all, I don’t want to be talking over anyone. I’m not up there only talking to my couples, I’m also talking to anywhere between 20-200 guests, which is why I want to be in the best position for me to do that and I promise that talking over the top of you two isn’t it!
Being off to the side, gives me more direct engagement with the guests while also allowing me to turn toward you as well.

It also takes the heat off you. Yes, you’re front and centre, but people’s eyes tend to follow the mic so yes guests will be glancing your way, but you won’t have 200 eyeballs on you throughout the whole duration of the ceremony.

I don’t want to be in all your pics… and let’s be honest, you don’t want me in all of them either! And that’s perfectly acceptable.

It means the two of you can stand side by side, nice and cozy… you know, like a comfort blanket.

Yes, there are some moments where I will come in-between, but typically only for the asking and to help you with the ring exchange.

Georgie & Tom 🩷

Gosh I loved these two! Both of them, and their entire group of 150 friends and family were just so fun and fabulous. We belly laughed through their entire ceremony, as they wanted theirs wedding day to feel like an absolute blast before getting the party started.

That Aisle Kiss 🤍

Including kids in your ceremony 🤍

One of my favorite ways to include kids in a ceremony, particularly if it’s your children, is to have them give their blessing for me to marry them. By doing this in an asking format, it means I can either have them say ‘I Do’ or alternatively get a high 5 or little fist if they’re not quite talking yet.

The guests loved this sweet moment of Noah giving me the go ahead with a little fist, right before I married Mum & Dad.

Maleny Wedding Festival 🤍

Hello 2025 and another incredible weekend showcasing at Maleny Wedding Festival! A huge thank you to all of the fabulous couples who attended, especially those who took the time to chat all things wedding with me.

This was my sixth time at The Old Diary, and I want to give a huge thank you to Keighley, Jo, Ari & Genevieve who consistently go above and beyond to give us the most incredible backdrop to work amongst, and make our fabulous team of vendors feel so welcome every time we step foot on the property.

Also a big shout out to the for the delicious food (and Vespa rides) & for always adding the je ne sais quoi, my Fox & Turkey sidekicks & .s and every other vendor who consistently show up, making not only the showcase but also our incredible wedding days what they are.

Northerly’s in Noosa 🤍

Noosa isn’t typically known for its windy conditions, that is unless the Spring northerly’s hit, in which case the onshore winds can blow an absolute gale onto the most popular ceremony locations such as Maison La Plage & Hidden Grove.

In the case that you have a strong northerly forecast, it may be worth checking the availability of Noosa Woods Bay which is on the opposite side of the woods. During a gale from the north, the conditions in this area will be perfectly calm. Plus, it’s also a really beautiful spot backing into the river.

How long does signing take? 🤍

For me, about two & a half minutes. However, I typically allow for the length of one song and most songs are between three to four minutes in length.

What I do to save time on the day, is to have the full names of your chosen witnesses printed onto the certificates ready to go so that all we need to do is have all five of us sign (the couple, the witnesses & me) on the day.

In my experience, I tend to get this done in about 2 minutes & 30 seconds. I then offer you over to your photo & video team to get a few quick frames if they need, before we bring you back up for a final congratulations and send you back off down the aisle. ✨

Musicians will often ask for two songs (as rumour has it some Cele’s take a long time) or if playing live, they may perform a mashup (love this!) but I always aim to get this done & dusted ASAP.

2024 What a year 🤍

My goodness what a year 2024 has been! Reflecting on this past 12 months, I’ve been so lucky to marry 86 incredible couples and have only one more to go before the year comes to a close.

It has been action packed, and without a dull moment from monsoon weather conditions, gale force winds & thunderstorms to antics galore. I’ve had the privilege of holding space for so many smiles, endless laughter, mostly happy but also a few sad tears.

Thank you to all of my incredible couples who trusted me with their day this year. Wishing you all a fabulous silly season and I cannot wait to see what 2025 will bring to you all. xx
