Let’s get ready for a wedding!!!
I see it time and time again, couples leaving their vows to the last minute and then panicking to get the words onto paper! I always send regular reminders to my couples to make sure they are working on their vows from early on in the planning. Starting them early means you can spend a little bit of time on them here and there, and allows inspiration to flow freely and organically. And let’s face it, inspiration can come at the weirdest and sometimes most inconvenient of times. Like when you’re stuck in traffic, in bed about to go to sleep, in the shower, at the grocery store, or even while watching your favourite movies! So give yourself the time to really mull over the words you want to say to your partner. Give yourself the time to let the right words and inspiration come to you. Give yourself the time to read them, edit and add to them as many times as you need to, until they are right. Until they reflect exactly what you want to say to the person you love on your wedding day!
Every wedding is unique and beautiful. Every wedding I have officiated has been memorable in its own way! I love giving a couple creative freedom when it comes to designing their wedding ceremony! Today I had the greatest pleasure meeting with the most amazing couple that I will get to marry this September. Can I wipe the smile off my face? No, no I can’t!
We are so lucky here on the Mid North Coast to have so many beautiful places to have your wedding ceremony. From stunning wedding venues, to parks, to bushland, and beaches - the choices are endless. However, booking your venue should be one of your top priorities when you get engaged and have a rough idea when you want to get married. Some venues need to be booked a year or more in advance! So to avoid dissapointment, do your research on the venues in your chosen area and find out how far out you need to secure your wedding date!
Planning a wedding can be really stressful, so it’s super important that you take the time to find the perfect team to back you up on your big day. But I’m not talking about your bridal party, Im talking about the professionals you hire for the day to bring it all together. When you talk with a celebrant, photographer, videographer, planner, cake maker, printer etc, your conversation should feel easy and comfortable, like your chatting with a friend over coffee! Everyone has different personalities and values which makes us all unique - and thats awesome! So when you are meeting prospective industry professionals for the first time, ask yourself if they are your person, and are they on the same page as you when it comes to your vision.
It is so important not to leave the writing of your vows to the last minute. Get them done early so you have plenty of time to read over them as often as you can before the big day. Becoming familiar with the words will not only help the nerves, it will allow you to take moments where you can look up from the paper and make eye contact with your partner ♥️♥️
Did you know that there is no legal requirement to exchange rings in a marriage ceremony. It is a traditional ritual where rings are used to symbolise eternal love and commitment, as they have no beginning and no end. It is totally up to you if you want to exchange rings as part of your ceremony. You can choose to exchange something else thats meaningful to you, or skip that part altogether! ♥️♥️
