What to look for in a Celebrant...

You could just google the question and do the rounds asking every celebrant the same 5 questions everyone else has asked us.

But here's a few things more important than 'how long have you been doing this for'....

- VIBE - Do you get a good feeling from them, their content, their personality and the interactions you have had with them.

- AVAILABILITY - A no brainer really, are they free on your chosen date or do you love them enough to be flexible if it means locking your dream Celebrant in.

- STYLE - Not their clothes, but does their ceremony style match your vision? Do you want a light hearted ceremony or a more formal one. One with heaps of tradition or a lil bit of lols. The choice is yours, but you wouldn't go to a Fish and Chip shop and expect fine dining would you?

- FEEDBACK- Check out their reviews and suss out the word on the street. You could even ask vendors you've already booked, like a big old family, us wedding folk know a person/vendor for every situation.

- BUDGET - No one wants to pay an 'arm or a leg' for a Celebrant - which by the way the current going rate is many hundreds of thousands and I promise we don't charge that much - but finding someone within your budget is important. If we don't fit within the price you've allocated, that's ok, we won't be offended and many of us will refer you to someone else who may!

You deserve the greatest Celebrant, at the end of the day, you want to chose someone you actually like. If you pick a Celebrant 'just because' it could end up being like going on a holiday you've always dreamt of, with someone who doesn't want to be there, s**t.

At the tippy top of a hill in Serpentine, with the most epic view, these two tied the knot. They knew exactly what they did and didn't want their day to be. Fun and easy was the brief - it was also the result!

Live music, pre-ceremony drinks, dried flowers and disco balls - vibe.

I have never before and probably never will again see a bride laugh when their dress breaks as they get out of the car immediately before they walk the aisle at the ceremony. Instead of freaking out, Soph took it in her stride, she broke the other strap off, tucked them both in and strolled up that aisle without a second thought as if that's just the way it was meant to be. A new level of bridal chill unlocked.

Right, Listen up you soon to be wed lovers!

We know it's heating up, summer is just around the corner and that means so too are summer weddings. Potentially even your own.

Last year I officiated multiple scorchers, I'm talking 45/46°c And in anticipation of every wedding was asking the same basic question 'have you organised water for your ceremony?' - 7/10 times it hadn't even crossed their minds. To their credit though, each of the couples who hadn't yet did so very quickly.

It doesn't have to be elaborate. Grab an esky and chuck in some ice and a few cartons of water. Want something a bit more eco friendly - you could set up a drinks station with a few water dispensers and glasses.

I know its just another thing, but it really is an important thing. Please don't be that couple.

Dehydration isn't chic.

A LITTLE LOVE STORY OF MY OWN..

A few of you might have noticed that I bought my own plus one to weddings last season... hell, he even joined me for a few funerals too🤰

Well, I finally got to meet that little hitchiker and let me tell you, I quite like him.

But a new baby always throws a spanner in the works right?! No matter how seasoned you are at your job, running a business or raising small people.

So that I can continue to deliver the most exceptional service to my lovers and still enjoy this time with my family I am turning the dial all the way back for the second half of this year.

What this means for you...

Very hard to believe that it's been a whole year since we eloped, just us and the kids. This day was exactly what we wanted, it was easy, it was us.

I hope we're fortunate enough to enjoy another 70 rotations of the sun together, and then some 💕
