This week, I had the honor of completing a project that took 2-4 weeks to finish—creating two very special herbarium bottles for Gail and her sister. They brought in florals from their dad’s funeral, saving what could be use, I dried the florals over a few weeks to create these meaningful keepsakes.

Once the florals were dried and ready, I crafted these beautiful bottles using recycled alcohol bottles and added a personal touch by decoupaging the lids. These herbarium bottles, filled with the love and memories they hold dear, will forever be a reminder of the special bond they shared with their dad and the legacy he leaves behind. It was a privilege to help create something that they can treasure for years to come. 🌸✨

🌟 Week 4: Crafting with Color and Creativity 🌟

In Willow's private one-on-one social participation class this week, the focus was on bringing out the best in her Gothic-themed arrangement from last week. Over the 2-hour session, Willow painted a vase to perfectly complement her creation, and then started on an exciting new project: an everlasting dry floral hoop! 🌸🎨

Part 1: Painting the Vase

Color Choice: To match her dark and moody Gothic-themed arrangement, Willow chose a rich velvet purple for her vase. This deep hue perfectly complements the dark florals and adds a luxurious touch to her design.

Personalized Painting:With steady hands and a creative eye, Willow carefully painted the vase, ensuring it matched the tone and style of her arrangement. The result was a stunning, cohesive piece that beautifully ties everything together.

Part 2: Starting the Everlasting Dry Floral Hoop

Floral Selection:Moving on to her next project, Willow began working on an everlasting dry floral hoop. She selected a variety of dried florals from our in-store collection, carefully choosing blooms that would add texture and depth to her design.

Wiring and Taping: Willow learned how to wire and tape the flowers into small bundles, which she then attached to a metal hoop frame. With precision and care, she created the first layer of her floral hoop, setting the foundation for what will become a truly breathtaking piece.

Looking Ahead: With layer one complete, Willow's hoop is already taking shape. Next week, we'll add all the finer details, bringing her vision to life with even more creativity and style.

Willow's progress this week was nothing short of inspiring. From painting her vase to starting a new floral project, she continues to explore her artistic abilities and develop her skills with each session.

Creating a floral casket spray to honor the memory of a very special mum was a heartfelt experience. She had a deep love for daisies and cherished burgundy and pink-toned florals, so I wanted to capture that essence in this tribute.

I carefully selected a mix of cymbidium orchids, known for their elegance, and magnolia for its timeless grace. Wax flowers were added for their subtle charm, and bright yellow daisies brought a touch of her favorite bloom to the arrangement. Chrysanthemum pom poms provided a sense of devotion, while gum foliage added a natural, grounding element. The spray was accented with soft purple misty and a few striking pieces of burgundy flax to tie in her love for those rich tones.

In addition to the casket spray, a matching posy was created to place on the table alongside her photographs. This posy echoed the beauty of the main arrangement, providing a delicate and meaningful accent to the memory table.

To complete the order, I was also asked to create five floral bottles as keepsakes for close family members, using the floral wastage from the main design. These bottles serve as lasting mementos, preserving the beauty and memory of a remarkable woman.

May God bless the family during this time of remembrance, bringing them comfort and peace as they celebrate the life and love of a truly special mum. These floral tributes were created with love, honoring her legacy and the beautiful memories she left behind.

Lara’s Floral Bottle Adventure

Today, 6-year-old Lara had a blast at our Floral Bottle-Making class! 🌼 She carefully picked out her favorite flowers from the dry floral archive wall, choosing the prettiest colors and shapes. With so much excitement, Lara made not one, but three beautiful little floral bottles! She gently placed her flowers into each tiny glass bottle and filled them with special oil to keep them looking fresh and lovely forever.

Lara even added a personal touch by choosing a mini duck to glue onto one of the lids! She was so proud of her creations and couldn’t wait to show them off to her family. It was such a joy to see her create something so special! 🌟

We’re looking forward to seeing what other kids who visit will create too!
