Don't be like me 🤦♀️ Don't make this mistake with your wedding vows.
But first, what are the wedding vows?
They are an optional, yes, optional, part of your wedding ceremony. During this time, you and your lover get to say beautiful things and make promises to each other on how you plan to show them your love throughout the rest of your lives together.
When I wrote my vows, I wrote something really lovely that reflected how and why I love my partner, but I forgot to put in the vows part 🤦♀️. There were no promises or intentions of how I wanted to show him that love during our marriage.
Not that it really matters though, because at the end of the day it is a personalised section and you can say anything you want! So write whatever, all promises or no promises or somewhere in between. What really matters is that you love each other and by getting married, you're vowing on continuing to love them.
Other ideas for your vows include:
- saying a poem or pre-written vows you find online
- playing a specific song at the time of the vows to dedicate it to each other that explains how you feel
- doing a private vow reading at a first-look or private ceremony (like the Couple Connection Ceremonies I offer)

For too long I've let my ideas be ideas.
I have way too many vision boards, ideas lists and unfinished masterclasses, circles, events, eBooks and workshops.
I find myself looking at other women in business that are achieving their dreams and thinking "I want what they have! Why doesn't my business/life look like that?".
Well, its because I hadn't been putting in aligned action towards my goals. To be fair, for a long time I was so clouded by PPD and high stress that there was no space in my life to put in aligned action. But now,

(PS, I want to acknowledge that while all of the above is true, I am blessed to be living my dream of having an incredible husband and a mind-blowingly brilliant and fabulous child that I get to stay at home and raise in a conscious and intentional way - but I have more dreams on my bingo card 💦)
I was fired twice when I was pregnant. I haven't had a job in over 2 years. And one of the biggest lessons I learnt from being fired twice in the span of 5 months (🙃) was that no-one cares about me or my family more than I do. I made the choice to not go back to a job that I would hate anyway and to stay at home with my daughter full time instead.
But, I also wanted to contribute financially to my home. I was thinking of jobs I could do (mostly) from home. Network marketing or MLMs? No thanks. Selling products online? Nope. Call centre work-from-home? With a toddler? Uuuummm no.
I don't remember how Celebrant popped into my head, but I remember thinking "that would be perfect!" Running a celebrancy business is something I can do from home, I can do meetings with couples/clients around my daughter's schedule and can have my husband or family be with my daughter while I facilitate ceremonies. Choosing celebrancy meant I didn't have to compromise on staying at home to care for my daughter.
Other factors that made my heart scream F**K YES to being a celebrant included:
✨️ getting to write and perform for a living
✨️ meeting new people and hearing their stories
✨️ holding space for people to celebrate and heal
✨️ inspiring others
✨️ soaking up the beauty of ritual and ceremony
Running your own business is no picnic; it sure as hell isn't the easiest option, but it means I get to have a career I truly love while simultaneously getting to prioritise my daughter, my family and myself.

I did NOT think I would like Women's Circles.
When my dear friend invited me to my first, I imagined I'd be eye-rolling internally and feeling out of place. And I'm glad to say that I couldn't have been more wrong!
I was welcomed into the most beautiful space and energy when I arrived, the cacao was hot and delicious, the theme drew me in, the facilitators were wise and supportive, learning from the other women was healing AND the meditation unexpectedly brought me to tears.
I was HOOKED.
A space that can create such a sense of power, healing, relaxation and connection was exactly what I needed. I wanted to bring this energy to more women and show others how incredible it is to attend these events. So, I began hosting my own Circles and its something I feel so honoured to do.
