Sunny kids has been silent on this matter for the past 8 months, you may have noticed we have been quiet on socials lately. The horrors occurring in Gaza are just beyond painful to bear. As someone who works with children, both in the entertainment and education sector, my role is to protect children and ensure they are safe, secure and happy while they are in my care. I hold this role very closely to my heart and take it very seriously. To see the joy in children’s eyes, to see their innocence and creativity shine through. To watch them learn and grow, their precious little hugs and smiles. EVERY child deserves to be safe and happy, most of all to have their mum or dad, food and warm home. What I’m seeing in Gaza is so evil and devastating, I cannot keep quiet. We as caregivers holding a working with children card are mandatory reporters- this means we have a legal responsibility to report any crime or abuse of children. It’s my duty to speak out to support those suffering - I know many other parents are watching the horrific scenes and hug their babies a little tighter at night. Many of us just want to scream. Please make it stop! I urge you; fellow business owners, vendors, suppliers , event managers, clients and alike, please speak up, don’t be afraid. Wanting to end the war and calling for a ceasefire is NOT antisemitism or against anyone. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. As humanity we all want peace. We have a right to food, water, shelter, education, love and freedom- 2.3mil people are presently deprived of this. 35000+ are dead. 600000 of those starving and being tortured both physically and mentally in this genocide are CHILDREN! I refuse to be silent, I refuse to accept anyone who says that my voice to speak up for those who can’t speak is “offensive”. Call for a ceasefire. Petition our government. And please do everything you can to bring awareness to this humanitarian disaster. Thank you 🙏🏻 🇵🇸
