Ordering your wedding invites online is super easy with many websites offering easy to use templates you can simply input all of your information.

Opt for a minimum of 300 gsm (140LB) with an uncoated, textured, or matte finish for that elegant touch. Say no to glossy or silk matte finishes to avoid that 'business flyer' vibe.

Our Vendi, Robyn, 𝓒𝓮𝓵𝓮𝓫𝓻𝓪𝓷𝓽 𝓲𝓷 𝓢𝓽𝔂𝓵𝓮 - 𝓡𝓸𝓫𝔂𝓷 𝓟𝓪𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓸𝓷 from shared with us one of the most common questions she gets from her couples ➡️

The one question I'm most commonly asked is "What time do we put on our invitations". I tell them to say to the guests to "arrive by ......" and also to say "the ceremony commences at ........" so there's no confusion.

We asked a newlywed what advice they would give nearly wed's planning their big day.

"Keep the big picture in mind. Don’t lose sight of what truly matters and don't let the stress of wedding details consume you. Remember that the wedding is just one day, but it’s your marriage that's a lifetime"

It's easy to get caught up in every little detail.

Our motto ➡️If it won’t matter in 5 years time, don’t take more than 5 minutes.

If your 5th wedding anniversary isn’t going to be a memento to the beautiful Abigail Unique Ligature font you had on your wedding invitations, don’t think about it for more than 5 minutes. Minor details that won’t matter in 5 years, shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes of your time.

It's easy to get caught up in feeling like you need to have a certain type of wedding, include things you don't really want to include or plan a day that isn't really you.

However, don't feel pressured to have a 'truly unique' day.

Or have a low-key, intimate day if that's not your vibe.

And definitely don't go over budget to have a vogue worthy day.

10 ways to have a more eco friendly wedding

Part 2

Consider your decorations ➡️ Go for minimalistic and reusable items like potted plants and candles. Avoid single-use decorations that end up as waste.

Support local ➡️ Hire local vendors to cut transportation emissions and boost the local economy.

Skip sparklers and smoke bombs ➡️ Sparklers leave behind waste, and smoke bombs release harmful chemicals. Opt for nature-friendly choices.

Say no to unnecessary favours ➡️ Most guests don't need them. If you want to give something, choose edible gifts to reduce waste.

Use transport wisely ➡️ Encourage carpooling or public transportation. Consider hosting the ceremony and reception in one place to cut down on travel.

10 ways to have a more eco friendly wedding

Part 1

Attire ➡️ Opt for sustainable, eco-friendly attire, or explore secondhand and rental options. Encourage your crew to wear what they have, reducing waste.

Guest List ➡️ Keep it intimate to minimise waste and simplify logistics.

Invitations ➡️ Go digital with a wedding website to reduce paper waste and environmental impact.

Florist ➡️ Choose local and seasonal flowers, skip floral foam, and consider potted plants.

Venue ➡️ Select eco-friendly venues with natural lighting and outdoor spaces. Prioritise locally sourced, organic, and seasonal ingredients to minimize food waste.

Why we love an intimate wedding

➡️ The guest list

The guest list is kept to those closest to you, no add-ons, no invitations extended just because.

➡️ The vibe

You can think outside the box when creating an intimate atmosphere. A restaurant with a private dining room, a private outdoor garden or book a table at your favourite restaurant.

➡️ The personal touch

Make it your day. Get ready together or meet for a coffee before your ceremony. Find small ways throughout your day make it all about the two of you.

Thinking of eloping?

What to keep in mind...

Witnesses ➡️ Ceremony's need two witnesses, both need to be over the age of 18, however apart from that, they can be anyone. There is no legal requirement for them to be someone you know or have known you for years.

They could be your photographer and/or videographer, or if you’re only having a photographer, your second witness could be a staff member at your venue. It can not be your celebrant.

National, state and local parks ➡️ Planning on eloping in a national park, a state park or a local shire park? You may need a permit. There are generally fees involved and you may need to book 12 months in advanced depending on your location.

Artificial florals are required in all national parks to protect the flora and fauna, and you and your vendors will require a valid parks pass to enter.

The final step in where to start your wedding planning is setting a budget.

You’re probably thinking, how do you set a budget if you have no idea how much your wedding is going to cost?

The average wedding costs around $36,000, depending on where you are in Australia and of course, what type of day you have.

This number will either shock you or will be what you were expecting give or take. How much you spend on your day will depend on many things. The size of the wedding, the location, what style of decorations, the dress, rings etc.

The best way to set a budget is to use your rough date of when you want to get married, work out how much you can put aside each pay and times that by the number of pays until approximately two months before your penciled date (you will need to pay vendors in full 4-6 weeks before your wedding date).

This will give you an idea of whether your rough budget is realistic or not without saying I do to your other half and I do to mountains of debt.

You may want to push your wedding out further if you think you won’t be able to save enough in time, to avoid slapping it on your credit card.

If you are fortunate enough to be receiving money from family, you can factor this in, but don’t expect money. It’s better to not expect it and be pleasantly surprised than to expect it and be disappointed.

You know how you are picturing your day, you have your rough number of guests, you know what area you want to get married, it's now time to work out how your day looks.

Will you be waking up surrounded by your wedding crew? Then getting ready and heading off to a one stop location for the remainder of the day?

Or will there be multiple stops and locations throughout the day? Ceremony at one place, photos at another then a different place for your reception?

Deciding where to have your ceremony and reception will affect other factors with your planning, i.e. how you will be getting around for the day, if you need to add in additional catering, and even what time to kick start your celebration’s.

By now you know how you are picturing your day and your rough number of guests, it's time to decided where you want to get married. Not the exact venue, but what area?

Do you want to get married by the coast, in the country, or city? Maybe a destination wedding? Once you have narrowed down your area, work out what type of venue you want.

Are you picturing having boats in the background at a sailing club, or the rolling vines at a winery? Rustic, modern, or a blank canvas? Narrow down your options until you have a few ideas in mind.

After you have got clear on what sort of wedding you want, it’s time to start putting together your guest list. It doesn’t have to be the final edit, however start putting together a few names of who you would like to be surrounded by on your day.

It may change over time, it might get smaller or it might get bigger but once you are happy with your list, this will help you narrow down the right-sized venues.

Recently engaged and starting to plan your dream day?

Kick start your wedding planning by getting clear on what sort of wedding you want and how you are picturing your day.

Is it just the two of you with no one else around? Maybe you want that intimate feeling but still want to be surrounded by those nearest and dearest to you.

Or maybe you want all your friends and family around to help you celebrate and party the night away with.

Sit down together and get really clear on what’s most important to you.
