The end to ‘22 was an absolute banger.

I’m so grateful for the lovely people I’ve met along the way and those who have helped me achieve more than I could have ever thought I would.

I’m jumping into 2023 feeling excited, optimistic, fulfilled and anxious to get back behind the decks and to build on my skills as a DJ.

Thank you again to SNACK, Streamline Entertainment and The Old Synagogue for making my first NYE on stage an absolute bloody treat!!

A little bit about me 👧🏻 **Long post ahead**

Haaaiii my name is Sarah Louise, I’m a Graphic Designer, art lover, shower singer and very impulsive 😂 I signed up to YOUR SHOT on a drunken night out a week after sign ups closed so naturally thinking it wouldn’t go anywhere. And here we are!

I’ve always been a musical person, after I found out that violin wasn’t for me I learnt how to play piano and saw a vocal coach for years. I danced jazz, tap, even ballroom.

In my adult years I surrounded myself with likeminded musical lovers and obsessively searched for tunes I love. Safe to say sharing music is my love language and feeds the soul 🥰

I can openly tell you my mental health before this competition wasn’t great, not feeling good about myself and second guessing everything plus social anxiety at an all time high, so finding this new passion has definitely pulled me out of a dark place in my life.

If anyone is thinking about learning to DJ or just wants a little shake up - Your Shot is a great place to start as you learn the basics from the best in the biz, lookin at you 👀!!

That was such a fun 6 weeks learning how to DJ at The Academy AUS and what an absolute blast playing to my first rowdy crowd at YOUR SHOT in Perth. The energy was fkn 🔥🔥🔥 and I can't wait to experience that again.
