Dear dancers, there's a wonderful opportunity to be a part of the concert together with Kazafy! AUSET's gala show and dance night is on at the Morley Sports and Recreation Centre Saturday night February the 21st 2026!

How can you join the dancers with Kazafy? Keti Sharif who regularly visits Egypt and sees him, has prepared 4 choreographies which will be taught at the Blue Lotus Room. Participants can attend live and also via zoom.

The First Saiidi choreography was sold out (Aug), and the second Samaii fan veil (Sep) has just two spots left. In Oct-Nov, a Hagallah which was created by Farida Fahmy, and a Sufi Zikr with live drumming and frame drum, co-created by Keti and guest Amr Abou Zeid, will be taught.

These opportunities are extremely rare; to dance with Egyptian Masters. We have many foreign dancers coming from Egypt, but when you get the chance to study with the true Egyptian masters, you will learn cultural insights and nuances, that can only come from those who are of the culture.

💃 WA & interstate dancers, join us as we prepare 4 x NEW Egyptian theatre dances for the concert, at Blue Lotus Room Aug-Nov 2025 (live or zoom).

🌺 Troupe choreo classes are Saturdays 2-4pm, dancers can choose from the following 4 week courses: Aug (Saiidi), Sep (Samaii), Oct (Hagallah), Nov (Dof ensemble).

🌞 Max 2 choreo enrollment per dancer. Live classes preferred but Zoom option available for interstate guests who'd like to perform with us. Feel free to reach out for a chat if interested!

Excited to announce Kayla from Belgium, who will be teaching a beautiful Shamadan dance at AUSET Feb 2026! Her workshop will be on a Monday night 23 Feb 7pm at Blue Lotus Room. Kayla lives in Egypt for a good part of each year and is an aficionado of Egyptian dance, especially the Candelabra dance which I've seen her perform in Antwerp. Dear dancers we have a party this weekend Saturday night at the blue lotus room 24th of May. I will have my computer there for any in person bookings for AUSET 2026 on this night. Anyone booking before the end of May gets a free online Bellydance rhythms workshop filmed live in Cairo with talented drummers Sam and our special guests from Egypt Amr.

NEWS!!!! Hello dear AUSET members! We are so excited to announce that bookings have opened and the full 2026 program is now out online! We will be celebrating the finest of Egyptian dance and drumming with two experts from Cairo joining us in Perth in February 2026 - Egyptian choreographer of the Radder troop, Mohummed Kazafy, and the leader of Cairo's Sufi percussion ensemble, Amr Abou Zeid. Plus some fabulous guests and fun troupe choreographies for the concert overseen by Kazafy.

For Earlybirds her book by June 1, with a Kazafy Master Class package, or Drum-dance package, you get a free live video workshop from Cairo with Amr, on Egyptian rhythms valued at $45. It's also a great way to see him in action.

Dear Dancers and Drummers of Oz.... drrrrrrumroll!

AUSET - Australia's BIGGEST Egyptian Drum & Dance Fest is on in Perth WA Feb 20-22, 2026! With special guests all the way from Cairo, we celebrate the finest in Egyptian cultural dance and drumming. Dance Choreographer of the Reda Troupe - Mohummed Kazafy highlights the event, and the lead Percussionist of Cairo's Tanoura Sufi troupe - Amr Abu Zeid Will be joining Sam Nascimento fellow Perth drummers for a rhythmic extravaganza!

It's going to be phenomenal with such true Egyptian talent. The theme "Raqsat al Faras" meaning Dance of the Mare, highlights the earthy, celebratory nature of dancing and drumming in Egypt, and is a wonderful symbol for the year of the Fire Horse. The full program is out April 1, 2025 but in the meantime you might like to join our newsletter to be the very 1st to get the news and one of the very first 10 to get our amazing opening discount!
