It’s September and I’m excited about hanging fresh wreaths already🎄One of my favourite things to create and I’m so pleased so many of you have signed up to my Merry Making Workshops.

Wreaths are the reason I stepped into the world of floristry, I love the product, the process and the finished result is SO SATISFYING. Watching your wreath age with beauty and change in texture and colour is a treat, who’s still got their aged wreath from previous workshops? I have one that’s over 5 years old and still looks pretty on my door 🤍

Closing the online store from time to time is a challenging decision but a sensible one and here’s why…

As a solo florist, I take immense pride in crafting each design by hand and I reached a point last week where I simply could not accomodate anymore orders without compromising the standard of my work.

This was not an easy choice as ultimately I turned away business, but I totally believe it was the right step to ensure EVERY bouquet maintains the quality & attention to detail that you’ve come to expect.

Thank you so much for your understanding & support, the surge in orders and events makes my heart explode 🤍

Please know, as we head into the busy season of Weddings and then of course festive events & workshops you may see this happening from time to time, so please if you can order your florals in advance to avoid disappointment.

16 years today, we said I do 🤍

Looking through the photos has really emphasised how time flies and how ancient we are 😉 would I do it all again tomorrow? YES.

I just LOVE Weddings, so much so I’ve worked in all areas of the industry from hospitality (yep I went into business as a publican at the age of 23), bridal shops, marketing & events and now of course floristry. Every aspect excites me and seeing it all come together on the day is THE BEST.

I love how everyone’s day is completely unique and reflects who they are as a couple! For us, 16 years ago, we crammed 300 of our nearest and dearest guests into a marquee on my family’s farm in the Lake District. It was a must we danced the night away to the sounds of a sax and oasis, it was all about the big dress, deep red roses and berries. Good food and booze was a priority, roping in the local butcher to do and catering and a fully stocked bar of local real ales & wines.

What a day to remember. Here’s to celebrating love, laughter and creativity - whether you’re planning a wedding or just dreaming about it 🤍

After spending a fair bit of time Florist shopping and requesting quotes for my wedding, I was lucky enough to stumble across Jo in my search and I am so grateful that I did…

Jo was amazing. At the start her professionalism, customer service, attention to detail and genuine care for her clients really stood out to me. She made the whole process super easy and stress free!

On the day of my wedding, she was absolutely fantastic! She personally delivered my bouquets (for me and my 3 bridesmaids) and I was in complete awe when I saw them for the first time, they were perfect, an absolute dream.

She then went on to the venue where she sprinkled her magic there, by way of table garlands which were just…. WOW! The greenery, interlaced with delicate pops of native florals was so vibrant against the Burgundy table runners.

As night fell and the reception kicked off, everything came together so perfectly, her floral handy work, illuminated by candle light, created a fantastically moody and romantic atmosphere!

Honestly, I was so impressed, she is an absolute artist and I will be recommending her to anyone and everyone for their floral needs!

BIG is BEAUTIFUL.

The challenge is fitting them in a photo (and a delivery vehicle 😂) Welcoming back the cherry blossoms and king proteas this week, Spring is on its way 🩷🌿

There’s a definite Friday feeling in the studio today and I LOVE IT, especially when I get to meet my customers when collecting and witness the surprised faces of joy upon delivery. THE BEST.

The recent reviews have blown me away, to have satisfied customers just like this means the absolute world.

When designing my floristry business, building a flower club community was my dream. I knew this wouldn’t happen overnight, it requires building trust, staying true to my passion and having patience (patience is something I’m working on 😬).

Customer experience was always a priority, looking at my business through the eyes of a customer, I wanted to ensure the customer journey was an enjoyable one.

**Flower Spotlight** STRAWFLOWER

Look at this marvellous bunch of local, native goodness! As you know, I’m all about interesting textures and particularly drawn to longer lasting florals with the ability to dry… The strawflower certainly ticks all of those boxes ✔️

They come in lots of different colours (which they retain when dried), have unusual paper like petals and are also known as the everlasting daisy, symbolising eternal love and remembrance 🌼 🤍

POV: When the BTS images are better?

Sometimes you can spend AGES on creating the perfect content, perfect video, perfect image when actually it’s better to just keep it real 😉 Who’s with me ?

Anyone who runs a small business will understand the peaks and troughs of content creating! It can be oh so rewarding but let’s face it, it takes TIME. Which can be a significant challenge for small business owners who already wear all of the hats 🫣

Tip: I’ve started to make use of my tripod more, leaving it in the background so I can enjoy and focus on my craft. Here, you’ll find a few screenshots from video footage as well as some quick ‘in the moment’ snaps. I’m slowly learning, not everything needs to be flawless and requires perfection 😬

As a florist, I operate differently.

There’s no storefront, no pre-made bouquets, no overwhelming cookie-cutter designs, no excessive add-ons, no aged florals and imported roses are avoided.

When designing my flowering business, I focused on what I, as a customer, wanted from a florist. Buying flowers can be risky; I often felt overwhelmed, I never quite knew what I was getting for my money, where the flowers came from and how long they had been sitting on a shop floor. I wanted to address these issues and bring you The Flower Club.

Offering just three options reflecting size & budget, leaving the creative process to me. Each design is crafted with fresh, seasonal products sourced directly from the markets/growers on the morning of your order to ensure longer lasting florals. Like nature, each creation is unique and custom made by me, ensuring quality and beauty. To enhance your customer experience further, I capture an image of your bespoke arrangement before delivery, allowing you to share the excitement of what’s on its way.

Before I established my flowering business, as a customer, when ordering flowers, I was never too sure what was delivered and often felt you never quite knew what you were getting for your money 🤔 I wanted to change this…

You should ABSOLUTELY share the joy of what your loved one receives. As part of the customer experience, I capture an image of your bespoke creation upon delivery, allowing you to be a part of the excitement and know exactly what was delivered. … Not my style.

Australian Foliage is absolutely my FRIEND and how good is it in Winter?! I love nothing more than crafting with earthy tones & textures, echoing the beauty of season change! There is a current trend of flowering without foliage and I’m afraid I’m sticking with nature… give me all the greenery, sticks and gumnuts please.
