After much consideration I have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Kalamunda 50. Every year I strive to create an event that is unique and has a course and location that will be thoroughly enjoyed and remembered. Unfortunately, this year, key elements to this race have not aligned and I do not want to put on a race that does not meet my standards for an epic day out on the bike. The event will take a rest in 2023 and be back bigger and better in 2024. All riders who have already entered will receive an email when your refund has been processed. This will occur on Tuesday the 9th May. Thanks John

Had my first ride on the new Specialized Epic WC today. What a rocket! A quick up and down Gungin and it flew up and down! And the new Sram Transmission is incredible. Available now at it won’t disappoint the racer in you.

I don’t think we could ask for a better weather forecast for race week. The trails will be in perfect condition and the fire will be stoked on Sunday morning at New Leaf. We can’t wait to see you there.

We can’t wait to see this turn into an incredible new single track. The best thing is that will happen before the Kalamunda 50! There is some great work being done on the Kalamunda Circuit and we can’t wait to ride it.

Thanks for a great weekend everyone! We just got it done before the lockdown and we can't be happier with how everything went with a great new venue. A huge thanks to Adam, Ashlee and Susan from New Leaf Gallery. We just managed to get some incredibly quick presentations done before the midday restrictions. You can see how quick by the fact Tracey had barely crossed the finish line when I called her across to jump up on the podium. Well done to everyone not just Jon and Zoe for the wins but also to our first timers who took longer but achieved just as much. We will have 800+ photos up just as soon as I get my head around some technology and as always if you have got any feedback feel free to send me a message and I will be sure to take it on board.

The Kalamunda 50 will incur an entry cost of $90 per rider including your insurance. Just like in 2021, if you are not a MTBA/AUSCYCLE member you do not need to buy a day licence making the event a flat entry rate for all competitors.

Thanks for an amazing day yesterday. Perfect weather and I believe no one getting lost which is one of our biggest aims. Results are up on the website with split times at 8, 14, 28 and 42km so you can analysis all day. We want to say a massive thank you for the support of this years race. ENTRIES FOR THIS YEAR ARE NOW CLOSED. At this stage we have had to close entries due to constraints at Core Cider. In order to provide the best event and post event experience we have to cap the number of riders. If Core are able to get all systems up and running again post COVID we may be able to re open entries between now and the 14th July. We will keep you posted.
