TEAM TALK // Tom joined Lux Events in January this year, following 14 years as an in-demand content producer across Australia and the United Kingdom.

He studied media studies at college, which sparked his interest in the creative media industry. In 2008, Tom bought a DSLR camera and started making questionable promotional videos for anyone who would pay him. Taking the side hustle full time and deciding to make a real go of it, he founded Videokeg in 2010, which saw him guide over 100 brands through more than 400 creative content projects.

Most recently, Tom worked as a Sports & Content Producer for Kojo. During this tenure, Tom was the Lead Producer on the 2023 BBL Grand Final, which stands out as one of his all-time career highlights – especially when the team secured a clutch victory and he was invited to celebrate with them in the locker room!

Tom is also the Co-Founder of Amberlight app, which provides free coaching and group sessions to help people kick vices, addictions, bad habits and discover how to improve self-control.

When each day presents unique challenges that require innovative solutions, Tom is your man. He thrives on problem-solving and is a great bloke who is a valuable asset to the Lux team.

Tom is a dedicated family man, spending as much time as possible with his wife and three kids when he’s not on the job.

BTS // Throwback to construction of eight custom AV pods on site at Claremont Showgrounds for the 2023 . Equip with LED screens, moving lights, smoke machines and mirror balls, each night these eight pods were deployed around the perimeter of the Main Arena to enhance the Noongar Six Seasons Experience, bringing the content closer to the crowd.

Something very special took place at in Toodyay on Saturday 17 February.

Nestled in the hills of the Avon Valley, hundreds of guests descended upon .night_under_the_stars ✨ Powered by , A Night Under The Stars is an important knees-up that exists to help provide financial assistance to regional communities for projects which contribute to the mental health and wellbeing of the people in their community.

As a Premier Partner, Lux supported the event with production, lighting, video and audio. We love working on this event and would like to send a big thank and congratulations to the organisers!

TEAM TALK // Video technician Christy recently made the leap into full-time AV work at Lux, having come across from the world of corporate communications.

Christy has always had a passion for combining the technical and the creative, working behind the scenes in AV since high school. She went on to study cinematography at Murdoch University, graduating on the Vice Chancellors list, with Bachelor of Media in Screen and Sound, and Honours in Screen Production In 2010. After freelancing in short film, event videography and AV for several years, she moved into corporate communications working as a Digital Content Creator and Multimedia Specialist, where she worked with a team running online and hybrid streaming events as a video director on international conferences.

Some of Christy’s favourite events that she’s worked on include the Signs of Safety Gathering in 2018 and the Pentatonix concert in 2023.

Christy enjoys that every day is different and loves working with such a range of talented and creative people with completely different skill sets – all working together to make a single creative vision come to life.

Outside of work Christy enjoys photography (to be fair, she’s an absolute wizard with a camera!), travelling and tending her large collection of tropical plants.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia is one of WA's most iconic buildings and we love to support its exhibition launches with production and event management.

In a very special coup, presented the first Australian solo exhibition by Japanese artist, Yosh*tomo Nara, in February 2023.

The exhibition, titled 'Yosh*tomo Nara: Reach Out to The Moon, Even If We Can't', brought together major sculptural works alongside paintings, drawings, ceramics, and photography from the world-renowned artist.

Lux was engaged to provide lighting and audio for the invitation only VIP Launch which was beautifully style by the AGWA team, as well as projection, audio and lighting for the official Nara After Dark Launch Party.

This Valentines Day we'd love to shout out to the incredible .FLWRS

Sydney-based ACID.FLWRS creative hails from Perth and we had the privilege of providing production and event management services to the launch of her recent collaboration with the at

Pioneer of the marbled orchid, ACID.FLWRS creates unique painted flowers, surreal floral installations, fine art prints and beyond.

Fusing floral modification and graffiti art, ACID.FLWRS launched in 2021 with the original Acid Phalaenopsis. Fresh cut flowers are transformed with hyper-coloured patterns, bringing a fresh perspective to classical forms through a process based on a historical printmaking technique. Each stem is individually coloured with a bit of science and a bit of magic, transforming into a piece of ephemeral art.

TEAM TALK // Andrew brings over 28 years of experience and dad jokes to the Lux team. As our Production Director, Andrew is known for his sublime showcraft, leading the production team with knowledge, expertise and vast professional networks.

Andrew qualified with a degree in Production and Design majoring in Sound Production from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

Since then, his skills have taken him around the world and into some very interesting situations, including events requiring permanent military es**rt in Beijing and the 1997 Pacific Rim Forum, which took place in Hong Kong as Great Britain handed back Hong Kong to China. He was working in Sydney during the hype of the 2000 Olympics and has driven production for the annual Diggers and Dealers Forum for over 26 years. One of his biggest career thrills includes calling the show for One Big Voice, an event that saw 15,000 participants amass inside RAC Arena.

Andrew loves the culture, event diversity and people at Lux, not to mention the top notch gear. He was initially drawn to this industry because of the technology and how fast it was evolving. It was the beginning of digital sound and video editing, video switching and the convergence of slide projection and video projection for business events.

Outside work, Andrew loves his shed. Woodworking and DIY projects make him a happy man, especially if it means creating a better home for his family. He’s also an expert on 80s alternative music, a collector of records and loves his HIFI.

With 30 years as the global authority on dance music, nobody does the classics like Ministry of Sound. Supporting the epic production by , Lux provided two off-stage IMAG screens and some cameras to the recent Ministry of Sound Classical concerts in Perth at Kings Park & Botanic Gardens. Was great to see the audience re-live the greatest club anthems in this unbelievable day-to-night festival experience!

Our team created a series of technology driven activated murals at 140 Perth as part of the Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail at . Titled 'Illumine 140', this interactive, public light activation brought joy to families throughout the festive season.

With storytelling central to everything we do at Lux, we designed three interactive projection overlays based on the themes of fire, water and earth, complementing the existing mural themes.

Visitors were able to trigger animation changes by hovering their hand over a nearby plinth fit with motion sensors. When activated, the static murals came alive, breathing life into the art with an kinetic spectrum of colour and patterns, creating a dynamic, ever-evolving masterpiece.

Luminous Eden was a vivid and captivating projection art installation designed by Lux Events for the Rio Tinto City of Perth Christmas Lights Trail in the Perth Town Hall undercroft. Six projectors beamed onto over 10,000 metres of hand-cut streamers, bringing to life a mesmerising world of animated native flora and fauna, set in a fantastical realisation of WA’s south-west bush.

This immersive experience was accompanied by an evocative soundtrack that blended gentle melodies with ambient sounds of nature, creating a multi-sensory experience that transported viewers into a realm of tranquillity and wonder.

Vibrant colours, intricate details and seamless motion created an enchanting visual spectacle where nature's resplendence flourished and the beauty of our native flora and fauna was unveiled before the viewers eyes.

TEAM TALK // Hailing from Alabama in the USA, Aisha is one of our elite event all-rounders, with a focus on lighting.

Her passion for music and live performance led to studies in Tech Theatre, which made her fall in love with the biz. After working on some small gigs, Aisha went on to earn an Applied Sciences degree in Electrical Technology. She started working with the Local Union Electrician in the US where she learned a raft of skills that she uses every day in her role.

Aisha loves the challenges, the people and the ability to be part of making someone’s experience memorable through the art of events; an industry that has taken her around the world. Some of her favourite events she’s worked on include The Solar Eclipse Festival in Exmouth, Mumford and Sons and Fleetwood Mac.

When she’s not lighting concerts, she’s at them, or outside enjoying the Australian lifestyle with her mates.

In 2023 event, Lux provided multimedia, video, lighting and audio production for the The Capel Vale Conquer Cystic Fibrosis Grand Ball at Crown Perth.

Over 840 people filled Crown Ballroom with love, hope and a pledge to keep supporting the 3600 Australians living with Cystic Fibrosis.

The 2023 event raised an incredible $145,000.

As a 100% volunteer run organisation, all proceeds raised at the Ball go directly to Cystic Fibrosis research and services.

Congratulations to Kylie Guerriero and the entire organising committee – your tireless commitment to the cause is inspiring.

Over 800 of St John of God Murdoch’s hardworking caregivers dusted off their boots and dazzled with diamonds at Crown Perth on Saturday 16 September at the 2023 St John of God Murdoch Hospital Annual Ball.

The ‘Dust & Diamonds’ theme gave us great scope to create a fun and immersive event space with epic sets and styling, wild entertainment, LED screens and custom multimedia. Our skilled technicians added extra sparkle with lighting, video and audio on the night.

In December 2023, Lux Events provided lighting for the Perth leg of '50 Cent – The Final Lap Tour'.

Having sold more that 30 millions albums, New York rapper graced the big bowl at and our lights and lighting crew were on hand to illuminate this absolute legend while he showed Perth why he's a bonafide rap lord!

TEAM TALK // A love of live music and sport led James to his 23-year strong career in the events industry. Having gained an Advanced Diploma in Production and Design from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in the late 90s, it’s been guns blazing for James ever since.

Highly experienced and a stickler for quality, James loves the diversity his role brings – new people, new environments and new challenges. Some of his career highlights include working on Fremantle Football Club Game Days, twelve Doig Medal presentations, the Karrinyup Shopping Centre redevelopment launch event series and the launch of the AGWA Design Store at the Art Gallery of Western Australia.

A dedicated family man, sport and live bands also rate among his favourite pastimes. James also has a huge collection of dad jokes and vinyl records, one of which he uses to hone his amateur DJ skills.

Our main man on the tools is Mr Andy Carpenter. His expertise in technical and electrical ensures our gear is in perfect working order every time. He’s a bright spark and knows exactly watt we need! 💥⚡️

This week, Andy and the crew started testing and tagging our entire inventory of electrical equipment. It’s an annual process to ensure everything remains safe and compliant. This round will keep Andy busy to mid Feb!

Visitors to Cathedral Square during the Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail had the opportunity to wander into a mesmerising universe of light with the Constellation Labyrinth. Every path lead to enchantment at this immersive installation, designed and constructed with technology from Lux Events.

Light danced across more than 10,000 LED pixels, programmed by Mycologic with reactive 3D mapping against a beautiful backdrop of sound and delight.

This immersive maze experience spanned 150 square meters across Perth’s beautiful Cathedral Square.
