By far the most pumping dancefloor of 2024 was Shannen and Rileys at Oakover Estate! Hot tip for upcoming weddings....if you don't get up and shake your s**t you can't expect your guests to!!! Also if you do it I'll do it yeaowwww :)

You’ll notice that I haven’t done a recap of 2024….and probably won’t tbh, it takes a lot of time and effort to get those things done, and with 3 hectic kids on school holidays I have no idea how others do it….that and 16 weddings sitting there waiting to be edited from Nov and Dec!

So what you’ll get instead is a quick story on this shot whilst I’m waiting for their catalogue to export and upload. I met Emily and Josh whilst shooting Josh’s brothers wedding a number years ago on Rottnest island, so I was stoked when they got engaged and chose me as their photographer. Why is this good? Well they’ve seen how I work, know what I can produce and know how I interact with people which ultimately makes the whole day less stress on the couple and on me as I know what I can get away with humour wise! The instant I walked in to the boys walking around in their budgies (yes the first 5 shots in their edited gallery are of a groomsman in his cj’s lol) I knew it was going to be a fun day. An awesome bridal party is a key element to making your day heaps of fun! Banter flying everywhere, we were down in Bunker Bay following the ceremony zooming around in a bus driven by Em’s pregnant sister (well done btw) and I call out “stop” “bride and groom get out”, so they get out, the door gets slammed shut and we drive down the hill leaving them alone at the top wondering what the f I’m up to….well, sunset, moody skies, an awesome vantage spot all leads to this image. That and me laying on my belly in the middle of the road shooting up to the heavens! With a bit of direction (me yelling up the hill) we got a beautiful sequence of shots and this is my favourite. Next up causally U turn a minibus on a narrow road, full of a drunken bridal party and go back up the hill (slowly) to pickup the laughing couple up. At this point its always a good idea to show the back of the screen to justify my crazy antics and flailing around on the floor like a marooned turtle :) But yes, it was worth it!

Definitely worth a look up in Karragullen, has lovely tall trees shadowing an intimate ceremony area, AND the best apple juice on tap I’ve ever had!!! Yes they serve beer too…but the apple juice is mad good!

These guys had me pi***ng myself laughing from the moment I walked in to bridal prep. A really good energy at another of my favourite venues, can’t wait for the next one!
