✨Naming your inner critic can turn self-doubt into self-awareness.✨

Naming your inner critic is helpful because it gives you space from the harsh thoughts; Like turning down the volume on a mean inner voice by seeing it as something outside of you.

(Image reads)
For example, let’s say you make a mistake and your thoughts spiral: “I always mess things up. I’m hopeless.”
If you’ve named your inner critic “Grumble Goblin,” you can pause and say:
“Ah, that’s just Grumble Goblin at it again getting cranky when things go sideways.”
Suddenly, it’s not you attacking yourself. It’s a character; A pesky voice that doesn’t get the final say.

It turns shame into awareness, and self-blame into self-compassion.
This trick can be especially helpful for kids and neurodivergent folks, because it makes the inner world easier to understand and talk about.

💭 Try naming yours, and next time it pipes up, you’ll know who’s talking.

✨ Fairyfolk Wisdom: 5 Gentle Ideas to Build a Brighter Mindset ✨

Emotional resilience doesn’t need to be loud; Sometimes it looks like naming your inner critic, or sipping tea wrapped in a cosy blanket in your Comfort Corner. 🌿

Try these 5 simple ideas to enchant your days and nurture resilience:

Name your inner critic

Keep a “Done List”

Shift mood with scent

Retreat to your Comfort Corner

Set a daily “Pause. Breathe. Smile.” reminder

Small things can make a big difference. 💫

A lesson from the Floraphian’s; Slowing Down is Magic:

Some days, we’re not fast and agile like the Ashfyre Dragons, and that’s okay.
Some days are meant for slowing down, being soft & steady, and noticing the little glimmers of magic all around us. That’s a different, and a very special kind of magic.

For the Floraphian’s, the colder months are sacred. This is their time of rest and renewal. As the season turns, they begin their Seasonal Abscission, a natural process where their wings gently fall away. But this isn’t a sad time for the Floraphian’s, in fact, the Floraphian’s embrace it with special celebrations.

One of their most cherished ceremonies is The Gifting of the Wings - a symbolic act where a Floraphian offers one or more of their fallen wings to someone they care about, as a gentle reminder to slow down, rest, and care for themselves too.

The Floraphian's use this season to practice self-care, gratitude, and the art of slowing down. Their wings will return in spring, stronger and brighter than before.

Perhaps this is the perfect time for us to do the same? to slow down, reflect, to take care of ourselves, and notice the quiet magic in our own world. You never know what you'll find…

For the grown-ups in Perth, WA:
Do you know a magical local spot where a Floraphian might leave behind a wing? Or, has you or a loved one already discovered a gift from these friendly little creatures?
Comment/DM and share your special places, you might just help bring the next magical adventure to life for your little ones.

🧚‍♀️How many Floraphian’s can you spot in this picture?

I’ll be updating The Archives soon with more about these amazing little beings and their discovery & connection to the human world. It’s been a busy few months, with a lot more excitement and adventure ahead! But today, I just wanted to take some time and share some magic with you.

This just fills my heart 🥰 it's so wonderful to be recognised for the love and care I put into my work ❤️ Willowfang is in such wonderful hands🥰

Small buisness shout out.

How beautiful is this dragonling the boys adopted at the Medieval Fair ob the weekend.

Handmade by .perth the details on it are exquisite. And the whole experience was amazing.

They had little 'dragon stones' the kids had to pick from and create a potion (add vinegar) to reveal a dragon gem inside the stone. They could then use this gem to find out which dragon had chosen them to adopt it and become the Dragonward.

These touches of magic turned it from just another store to a memory that will last a lifetime.

My boys life Willowfang and he is being a great dragonling helping the boys make good choices when feeling g big feelings thanks to the calming strategies he came with.

Highly recommend - if you see The Painted Lady around pop in their stall

🌿✨ A Dragon’s Tale from the Guildford Medieval Fayre ✨🐉

What a magical whirlwind the Guildford Medieval Fayre turned out to be! ✨
It was busy, it was beautiful, and it was brimming with kindness. I had the pleasure of meeting the loveliest adventurers, thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a smile, and let their curiosity lead them.

💫 Every single Dragonling found their new Dragonward within the first hour (!), and all of the Baby Dragons were adopted by midday. I’m still blown away. These little creatures are all hand-sewn by me -every stitch, every detail, made with care; so to see them fly off into the world so quickly was one of the biggest compliments I could receive.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to listen as I spoke about what I do. This was the first large-scale public event for The Painted Lady, and I truly appreciated the warmth, kindness, and time people gave to hear my story...even if I stumbled over my words a little in all the excitement!

Your support means the absolute world to me. 💖

🪷 I’ll be heading off on my next adventure soon to gather a new clutch of Dragonlings, so stay tuned. New magic is just around the corner. 🐣🔥

Oh and I almost forgot! The Magic Words were also all claimed within the first hour!

🌟🐉 A Surprise Dragon Egg Giveaway! 🐉🌟

(For adventurers aged 6+)

A small crafting mishap has led to a bit of extra magic for Fayre Day this Sunday…
We’ve got 3 mystery Dragon Surprise Eggs that may or may not contain an important kit component. (I suspect a Pixie may have run off with my labels… or perhaps it was just me forgetting to mark my handcrafted goods clearly… oops!)
So, in good conscience - rather than sell them, I’ll be giving them away in true Painted Lady style! ✨

Here’s how to claim one at the Guildford Medieval Fayre:
💫 1. Like & follow .perth on Instagram
💫 2. Get a few like-minded friends to follow too (the more magic, the merrier!)
💫 3. Keep watch! On the morning of the Fayre, we’ll post 3 secret “Magic Words” to Instagram & Facebook stories.
💫 4. Be the first to find our tent and whisper one of the magic words to our Potion Guide (each word can only be claimed once!)

The first 3 magical beings to speak a word will receive:
🐣 A surprise Dragon Egg
🧪 The opportunity to craft their dragon egg potion at our Potions Crafter’s Nook (just in case that mystery component is in fact, not present)
💖 And of course, the warm glow of a little unexpected wonder. 😉

This giveaway is open to Humans, Humanoids, Minotaurs, Fairies, Centaurs, and all other Fae aged 6+, and is only available in person at the Fayre this Sunday.

One egg per magic word; so be quick, brave ones!

I just had to share this wonderful moment!
Recently I had the joy of spending some time with some brilliant young creatives. While discussing ideas, Miss C decided she’d like to draw a dragon. Fantastic! Who doesn’t love dragons? The whole group erupted with enthusiasm, next minute, everyone was sketching dragons!

One thing I love about teaching, is observing how uniquely each mind works. Everyone brings something so different to the table. I find the more I observe, the more I learn how to guide, and support. Miss E, for example, is an absolute free spirit. She dives right in, unbothered by the idea of “mistakes.” If something unexpected happens, she simply adapts and carries on. Watching that kind of creative freedom is inspiring.
Miss C, reminds me a little of myself. She had an idea in her mind, dove in excitedly, but when her first dragon didn’t quite match the vision… the doubt crept in. The paper was scrunched, and the words came:
“I can’t do it. I can’t draw a dragon. It looks so bad.” I’ve said those very words to myself countless times (including “I can’t draw a dragon” – they are very hard creatures to draw!).

Those moments of frustration are not uncommon, and they are not an indication of fault or flaw within ourselves. Thoughts of self doubt just need to be met with gentleness, patience, and guidance.
I reminded her (with my usual animated flair) that nothing we create is “bad.”. “Mistakes”? are stepping stones. They’re part of how we get to where we want to be. She listened; she was receptive. And that is where the magic within ignites.
I asked Miss C if I could uncrumple the paper, she agreed, we talked about her ideas, and together figured out what had felt like it “didn’t work”, I shared my own "quirky" techniques when it comes to drawing, I saw the spark light back up in her eyes, she understood my advice. She dove right back in.

Her second dragon? Absolutely phenomenal. It was beautiful, created with reflection, insight, and resilience.
Well done Miss C, you are brilliant!

🌟 Product Spotlight: Butterfly Wing Earrings 🌟

These delicate butterfly wing earrings are one of my most popular designs! 🦋 With their soft, enchanting aura, they’re the perfect way to add a touch of "Fairy-tale Whimsy" to any look. I love how these delicate wings hold so much charm, which is why I think they’ll make a perfect feature at this year’s Guildford Medieval Fayre.

They’ve been a favourite at markets, online, and in-store! Here’s why: 🌸
To handcraft these beautiful earrings, I use high-quality Miyuki Rocailles imported from Japan—known for their outstanding craftsmanship, uniform shape, and exquisite colour range. These beads are lightweight, making the overall earrings comfortable for all-day wear. For added comfort, I use stainless steel findings in hues of gold and silver. Since I design and handcraft each pair, there’s flexibility for customization—colour selection and metal (sterling silver or gold) can be arranged upon custom request.

I’m weaving faster than ever to bring you a range of colours because these beauties are my most popular design! What colours and shades would you love to see them in? Drop your suggestions in the comments below! 💬👇

💭 If you're one of my Moon and Sun Australia OG followers, I’d love to know—what other designs do you think would be a great fit for the Guildford Medieval Fayre? Let’s see which ones you think would add some extra magic to the event! ✨
