What a send off we’ve had for Mad Hatterz Productions final Halloween festival last weekend!
It started off feeling like a bad dream, nearly everything that could go wrong did go wrong, from logistical problem after logistical problem, to scorching heats and severe wind warnings, it felt like we had set ourselves an impossible task.
But something amazing happened, we dusted ourselves off, had a drink and got back to work. I have never seen this team so determined to create a good event. Every single person who was there setting up last week never stopped working (unless they were literally incapacitated by heatstroke like so many were, including Seton).
We call ourselves a family a lot, but this fortnight we proved that we are. We took care of the people who were sick (a big thank you especially to Ilusha Rodionov and Connor Harkin for taking such good care of Seton), gave each other a hand where we could and tried to keep each other smiling.
A huge shout out needs to go to Corey Menner who saved our asses big time by pitching in (on his vacation no less!) with set up and then operating for us on the second stage Saturday night when our original operator dropped out. We also wanted to recognise Bambi Deer and his great operating of the lasers on the main stage. We’re so excited to see what we can all do together next year for Helix!
I hope everyone had an amazing time at our last Mad Hatterz Halloween, I know for us, your smiling faces makes it all worth it every time!
Can’t wait to see everyone in February for Helix! and remember, if you’re looking to take up the mantle for next Halloween, we’d love to help you! 💜
