We crammed so much into 2022
On the 18th of Dec 2021, we finally managed to get a G2G pass and move to WA to be with our youngest child, who came over months before us with her dad. We spent two weeks in quarantine in Scarborough, just staring at the beach from our apartment, envying everyone swimming during the heat wave. Quarantine was one of the most mentally draining experiences, but we made the most of it with lots of exercises, board games, searching for rentals, and shanannings.
After quarantine finished and we secured a rental, we hired a van and took off for a few weeks to explore the southwest. WOW! Western Australia is stunning and so vastly different from the east coast ❤️
Once our adventure finished, we settled back into the daily grind and loved our baby for as long as she would let us. Being a teenager, she hides from us most of the time 😂
In June, I decided after three years, I was ready to jump into the deep end with Clinton and propose. 🥰 He said YES.......of course. This is when I fell in love with picnics and started looking for a business to buy.
At the end of July, my apartment back in Mackay sold, and I purchased Lace Petals and hearts on 1st Aug. It has been full steam ahead ever since. There has been laughter and lots and lots of tears. I have met so many amazing people along this journey.
I have been white knuckle holding on waiting for my eldest daughter to arrive, and she finally landed to rejoin our family in Nov. Alanah turned 18 in August, and we are so excited to celebrate finally.
To top this crazy year off, we got keys to our new house on the 23rd of Dec and have been moving through the festive season.
Being so far from our friends and family has been challenging, but we are so thankful for all the love and support we have received from our new friends here in Perth
