Get Married in 4 Easy Steps

Are you ready to say "I do"? Follow these simple steps to secure your wedding date and time with ease:

🔸Start your booking by completing the Notice of Intended Marriage form.
🔸Fill out the form online, then print it and have it signed and witnessed by an authorised person (Doctor, Lawyer, Justice of the Peace, or Police Officer).
🔸Upload the signed and witnessed form along with your identification through the online portal here: www.perthmarriageoffice.com
🔸Select your preferred wedding date and time!

Remember, the Notice of Intended Marriage must be submitted no later than 1 month before your chosen wedding date.

Ceremonies at Perth Marriage Office are short, sweet, and to the point – usually taking around 10 minutes. Our celebrant will guide you through the legal vows, so if you’re not comfortable speaking in front of your guests, you’ll only need to read a few sentences.

If you are thinking of adding a personal touch, you can include your own vows, and they can be in any form you like! A great idea is to have them written in a little booklet, so you can keep them as a cherished memory of your special day.

F&Q: What happens on the day of marriage?

On your wedding day, you and your partner will sign important documents. Your celebrant will also read the Monitum aloud, a requirement before signing the Marriage Register. You can exchange vows or rings if you wish. After signing the documents, you'll be officially married and receive congratulations from your guests. You’ll leave with your official Commonwealth Marriage Certificate.

How to Book Your Wedding Ceremony with us

Booking your wedding is easy! First, complete the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form online. Once you’ve filled it out, print it and have it signed by either party to the marriage, witnessed by an authorised individual.

You’ll also need to upload copies of your official identification for both you and your partner. If either of you has been previously married, you'll need to provide legal proof, like a divorce or death certificate.

Once everything is submitted, you can choose your preferred wedding date!

On your wedding day, you'll receive your Commonwealth Marriage Certificate which is a beautiful keepsake of your special day. While it's a legal document, it doesn’t include all your identifying information, like your birth date and place.

If you plan to change your name, authorities will require the state-issued marriage certificate can only be obtained online after your marriage is registered with the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

For those who don’t need to change their name, obtaining the state certificate is optional.

F&Q: When can I arrive for my ceremony?

At Old Tower House, one of Perth's most popular wedding venues, we host weddings every 30 minutes to 1 hour. This means there’s a good chance there will be a ceremony before and after yours. We recommend that you and your guests arrive about 10 minutes prior to your ceremony. Once the venue is vacant, our celebrant will welcome you and open the door.
