Good evening. I hope you enjoyed the glorious weather on the weekend.

This week we have more homestyle meals on offer.

Lentil stew, full with healthy vegetables. We have a vegan version and one with sausages.

For the adventurous at heart, we have Spanish Lentils. A hearty, savory dish made with red lentils and spanish chorizo.

This week’s specials

😊 Vegetable soup, gluten free and vegan. Made with Celery and Kohlrabi.

😊 Savoury pancake rolls. Add these to the above soup and you have a “Flädlesuppe”.

😊 Gyros with Tzatziki sauce. This seasoned meat only needs to be fried for a few minutes and it is ready to serve. Add to this some Turkish bread and a salad and the meal is ready.
😊 for lovers of south German food, we have Leberknödel. These can be added to a soup or served with potato purée, cabbage and gravy.

This long weekend and then the lockdown really made me lose time, so much so that I didn’t post what our specials will be this week. The weekend is going to be a bit cooler so a lot of this week’s specials reflect this:

1- Vegetarian & Vegan pea soup.
2- Goulash soup with hearty beef and vegetables. This soup is gluten free.
3- Herb Semmelknödel, (German bread dumplings), a variation to the usual Knödel, with lots of herbs and spices.

The menu for this week was inspired by the wonderful wet weekend that we have just had.

*Home cooked Chicken soup, made the traditional way, free of chemicals, made with free-range chicken, cooked slowly to reduce the stock and bring out all the flavours.

*Philadelphia chicken breast, free range chicken and Prosciutto slowly cooked in the oven in a delicious white wine, leek, Philadelphia cheese and cream.

*This week’s sausages include Little Fritz, Wiener, Currzwurst und Thüringer Bratwurst.

*For lovers of liverwurst, this is the place to come.

* Hubertusschmalz with pork cracklings, apple & herbs for those who love it on their bread.

A very good evening. I hope you had a wonderful break. This week we have the following on offer:

 Homemade Spätzle – a pasta dish most commonly eaten with a cheese sauce but which also tastes amazing with mushrooms and Mediterranean vegetables. The meat eaters may want to have Spätzle with Gyros. People native to Swabia eat Spätzle with lentils and Vienna sausages. How do you eat your Spätzle? I would love to see photos of your favourite dish that has Spätzle in it.

 Homemade German Schupfnudeln, (potato dumplings) which again can be part of a vegetarian meal or can be eaten with a little bit of Speck and Sauerkraut.

 Rheinischer Sauerbraten, tender meat that has been in a special marinade of spices, celery, juniper berry, red wine and others. Cooking this meat is a real joy as it releases its aroma in your kitchen. This soft meat can be served with potatoes and red cabbage.

 We also have Seidenwürste, Gyros, black pudding, herb Liverwurst, Hubertusschmalz and Nürnberger Bratwurst.

Here is a quick update on the menu for this week

1 - Schlabberkappes (cabbage) GF.
This is a tasty cabbage dish with potatoes and sausage, from the beautiful Ruhr area in Germany.

2 - Cabbage rolls GF
Made with well-seasoned beef and pork and stewed with a gluten free sauce.

And as always, we have freshly made bread, pastries and sausage waiting for you.

I hope you are enjoying this lovely rain. There is no better way to start autumn than with lots of rain and delicious dishes that warm the heart and the body. This weeks special are just the right thing for this weather.

*Potato vegetable and ginger soup. This soup is vegan and gluten free (GF).
*Beef goulash soup, a hearty soup full with vegetables and beef. GF.
*Potato vegetable casserole and cheese. This is a vegetarian dish.
*Little Fritz sausage (180-200g) with Potato vegetable casserole.
*Cevapcici sausage

A heartfelt hello!

The heat is coming back and as you know, this means, lots of fluids and light meals. To make life easier for you, I have prepared just the menu that will see you through this week.

Entrée:
A fiery kidney bean soup with chorizo, vegetables, herbs and tomatoes

Mains:
Pfälzer Saumagen. This was the favourite dish of German Chancellor Helmut Kohl who would serve it to all official visitors. This is a savoury dish made with pork, herbs and potato. Traditionally these ingredients are then poached inside the pig’s stomach. However, I have modified the recipe and have poached it in the skin that is usually used when making sausages. You will receive sliced meat, which you will only need to fry quickly before serving. Serve it with Sauerkraut and/or potatoes or fries.

Sweets:
This week we have freshly baked
*Poppyseed cake
*Cherry Streuselkuchen

*Chicken salad with fruit in a creamy yoghurt mayo sauce.

Good morning,

We hope that you may have been able to start slowing down and that you will have the opportunity to reflect on Christmas, to drop the stress and to spend a nice festive season.

First of all, we would like to thank you for your ongoing support. This year has shown us all that one needs to think outside the box, react flexibly and spontaneously to achieve one’s goals. We in Perth are so lucky to be here.

For the lovers of meatless food, I have made bread dumplings with fresh parsley. These dumplings are a good addition to other dishes.

 Maultaschen (German Dumplings similar to a Ravioli)
The demand for these last week exceeded our production, so we have made some more to ensure that no one misses out.

A spicy, tasty barbecue sausage.

Sausage differently, a combination of flavors that can be addictive.

Hi.

Hoping that you are all surviving the heat by staying cool. Given the hot weather this week, I have prepared light meals. We have

* Beef Maultaschen (German style ravioli)
* Spinach and Ricotta Maultaschen

Some of you have asked us for advice on how to prepare these. Maultaschen can be either the main or a side dish. For example, fried Maultaschen can be served with wine sauteed mushrooms and vegetables. Or, they can be served with salad only.

Maultaschen can be added to any soup, the same way wontons are added to soup. Maultaschen also go well as a side dish, i.e. have a steak or a sausage as the main and the Maultaschen become your pasta to accompany them. There are no limits to Maultaschen. With Christmas around the corner, I have prepared a number of traditional dishes to fill up those bellies and to take with you for the potluck Christmas parties.

*Traditional Chilli con Carne (GF), made with meat chunks (not mince), beans, onion, potatoes and of course, Jalapeño chillies.

*Cabbage stew/soup, full with veggies. Vegan and GF.

As it gets warmer, you may want to throw a sausage on the BBQ, or have boiled sausages on a bun. All of our sausages are made from locally grown, WA meat. They are free from preservatives and additives. They are all gluten free.

A new week with new specials.

1. Dutch Frikandel (GF)
These mildly seasoned Frikandel contain chicken, pork and beef. Simply deep fry or pan fry and serve with your favourite Tomato sauce, Mayo and onions.
Dutch Frikandel come in a packet of three (3). The price of this product varies depending on the weight.

2. Tiroler Speck Knödel
This is a bread dumpling with smoked Speck, pork and sausage. Serve this as part of a vegetable broth or with salad or veggies.
Packet of four (4).

3. Pork Gyros with Tzatziki sauce (GF)
Seasoned Gyros meat ready to be quickly fried on a hot pan. It can be served with rice, potatoes, fries, salad or on bread. There are no limits to your imagination.

4. Potato Knödel with Mushroom filling (GF)
These potato dumplings filled with a tasty mushroom filling only need to be reheated. You can add a bit of herb or butter to them. They are the perfect on their own or with other veggies. There are 4 dumplings in each packet.
