Thank you soo much everyone for your overwhelming support!

You can order your poster here: https://reptileeducator.com/contact/

I feel I must apologise for the price; printing and posting is far steeper than predicted! I will be working to find a cheaper printing cost; as soon as I do, the price of poster prints will come down accordingly. :)

That said, you will be receiving a premium quality product, lovingly packaged and personally posted. It will be supporting the love of our wonderful Reptiles or Perth, my small local business; and hopefully bringing you (or the recipient of a top notch Christmas pressie!) great knowledge and joy!

My first educational resource is complete and available for purchase! A watermarked digital version will soon be available for free download via my website too 😊

On discovering that there is NO single page poster (that I can find) to help members of the public recognise, learn about and appreciate all the gorgeous common reptiles of Perth, WA; I felt a calling!

This poster aims to showcase Perth’s most commonly encountered reptiles, and to provide tips on identification (and to highlight how tricky identification can be!) - with a side of safety and first aid included too.

It was a journey; I made many hard decisions and learnt many lessons in the countless hours of work spent developing it; and I don’t regret a single one!

I could never have achieved this without the donation of amazing photos, editing feedback and advice of the legend, Brian Bush - as well as proofing feedback and advice from Ann Gerlach , plus feedback and advice from countless other friends and reptile experts. You know who you are - thank you!!

Of course, this poster isn’t perfect; I already have multiple improvements planned for the second iteration; and a simpler, more kid-friendly version planned for the future too.

But for now, enjoy! Prints will also be sold at a big discount when you order one with a reptile show! Enjoy, and Stay Wild!

I love weekends! This past fortnight my Saturdays were packed with brilliant reptile parties, and Sundays were spent with Rio tinto for their Perth Family days!

Thank you soo much to all the beautiful Rio staff and volunteers that assisted me, helped out and generally added to the beautiful vibes of this event ❤️ Everyone was amazing; including all the lovely families of course, several of whom I’d recently joined for their own private reptile parties hehe! Can’t wait wait to see you next year Rio Tinto ❤️🐍

As snake season is upon us, it seems like a good time to dust off this old infographic and repost, new and improved!

Note, these completely harmless legless lizards do look very similar to juvenile Dugites and Western Brown Snakes, which are dangerously venomous, to the untrained eye.

Also, WA’s southwest has a plethora of snake-like lizards, and small harmless snakes, that the public tends to be unaware of! I am currently in the process of developing a resource that will help with this!

Killing a dangerous snake is both illegal, and one of the best ways to get bitten. Killing a harmless lizard in the name of killing a snake is tragic stupidity (or radical lack of education) layered upon dangerous and ignorant intent.

If you find a snake, or possible snake in a private area, call your local snake relocator (have a list of numbers ready as time is of the essence), keep your eyes on the animal and remove children and animals from the area.

The best snake repellent you can get is a neat and tidy backyard: free of mice and rats, piles of tiles/tin/rubbish/deep leaf litter. Solar powered “snake repellers” DO NOT WORK.

For dogs likely to attack a snake, Snake Aversion Training is a literal lifesaver. Happily we now have several providers in WA’s southwest.

Happy school holidays, happy new lizard!
It’s been a crazy fortnight of OSHC, child care centre and birthday party reptile shows! And amidst it all, Rufous the Northern Blue-tongue has joined the beloved Amy Wild Scale Tribe, with his first show going swimmingly today! Now, we’re ready for a little break, with a two day bush escape from tomorrow.
Thank you for the gorgeous animal Adam 😊🦎

Just an Amy Wild, calling for an Australian PhD, Masters or even Honours student to replicate this study with our “super aggressive and known to chase” (not really, but so say many laymen) Tiger Snakes (or Death Adders for that matter!)

I would suggest some of our Brown Snake species too, but our researcher would never be able to chase them down in order to “step” on them 😂

Our Story

REPTILE ADVENTURES TO YOUR DOOR all over the Perth Metro area and beyond! The best kids parties, public events, school incursions and more! Learning and fun in one. Heaps of different reptiles and hands on opportunities, with wonderful prices. Fully insured. Non-venomous snakes only. FACE PAINTING and BALLOON TWISTING now also offered, after working through another company for seven years in between reptile shows and wildlife surveys! YOUTUBE - Wildlife adventures! Please like, share and subscribe.

VENOMOUS SNAKE RELOCATION - South Lake/Bibra Lake/Cockburn area, for a donation.

Amy spent her childhood running around the bush, catching animals in every spare moment (and often drawing or writing about them instead of doing her maths homework!). Early adulthood was spent gaining her Bachelor with First Class Honours in Biological Sciences, then working in Fauna Consulting for a few years (running about the north of WA trapping and identifying a plethora of reptiles, among other wildlife, as part of various mining projects); and driving solo around the country. Today she runs her own businesses spreading education about reptiles, producing episodes of her wildlife education YouTube channel; relocating venomous snakes, painting kids’ faces, doing more fauna consulting here and there; tour guiding, and training dogs!
