Whether you’re looking for old buildings with character, quirky backyard allies with awesome graffiti or beautiful natural surroundings like Kings, , or John Oldham park, you’re bound to find something that suits the style of photos you want.

Talk to your photographer and videographer ahead of time about the start of photos you want and they will definitely be able to make suggestions. And even if they can’t, a good photo and video team will go and scout out good locations before your wedding day to make sure they find the perfect spot.

A LITTLE BIT VINTAGE, A LITTLE BIT PERSONAL

I do like this new trend of audio phones. I like the idea of hearing voices of people you may have lost later down the track, I like that the later it becomes the drunker and funnier the messages become but mostly I like that it’s gives that special personal touch because you can’t convey emotion in writing so much.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All of my clients know I LOVE an audio message and you will often find that I leave them for you on here too if I find something exciting, need your opinion or just generally feel a voice message is going to be more appropriate. I think it’s a bit more genuine and authentic than an email sometimes. Plus I’m a very emotive person so sometimes something written down won’t quite get across what I need.

MAMMA BE NEEDING A SIT DOWN

This photo was taken 2 weeks before I fell pregnant with number 2. Crazy to think how time has flown and we’ll be meeting him / her in 8-10 weeks time (gunning for 8 because it’s all getting a bit uncomfortable now!)

CHEERS TO THE FREAKING WEEKEND (just gone….!)

Finally got a second to officially announce that one has moved into her new house! Glass of non alcoholic champers in order I think!!

It’s been 3 years, 1.5 new humans and a lot of stress but we’re finally there and my new office beckons!! Now the question is how to decorate it…..?

A MOMENT FOR THE GROOMS
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let’s face it there’s a common stigma that weddings are all about the brides but let’s remember ladies there’s another half to this marriage - hell the entire reason for the day….you know apart from the dress….!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nick was totally involved, knew what he wanted and didn’t want and wasn’t afraid to tell me which was so refreshing - guys you’re allowed to have an opinion too!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of the his top priorities was room to dance, as much time on the dance floor as possible and an epic band, all of which I think we managed to deliver. Dancing is a HUGE part of weddings in Macedonian culture and having been to many family weddings he wanted nothing but the same.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I can categorically say this kid spent 5 hours on the dance floor - unless he was eating or listening to speeches, he was dancing around the bridal table, up on peoples shoulders or vibing with the Macedonian band and I couldn’t NOT dedicate an entire post to the epic photos from his antics.

Nick I salute you. And the handover and sore limbs the next day were totally worth it!!!

Did you know there are more options to candles? Don’t get me wrong we all know I love the soft romantic glow of a candle but sometimes it’s nice to think outside the box and try something different.

Свадба

Culture and tradition are all part of weddings whichever country or culture you originate from but what is so beautiful is that every now and again, 2 different cultures come together to create something a bit special.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Normally a Macedonian wedding takes place in beautiful ornate churches steeped in tradition but when K said she wanted to combine an outdoor Australian wedding with the history and rituals of her fiancee’s Macedonian heritage, I said no worries let’s do it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Allowing for certain operational non-negotiables like asking around in a circle 3 times and a space for wedding ritual items, we were able to combine a stunning aesthetic with a long standing wedding culture.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Watching K&N say their personal vows and then they’re Macedonian vows was very special, and I am so proud not only to be able to make this happen for them but that we were also able to honour this timeless tradition in such a beautiful way.

OH HI!

Been a hot minute and I’ve had quite a few new follows on here so thought I’d show my face again…in black and white…and sexily looking away from the camera like I have something to hide!!

I’m Alice, 36 (officially as of 2 weeks ago), mum (22 weeks with number 2), fur mum (3 chihuahuas no judgement please!), wife (note the order sorry husband!), wedding planner, eclectic music listener (currently listening to a lot of Lo-fi chill out), traveller (originally from the UK but here 11 years), new home builder (6 weeks til we move in), reno-er (it NEVER ends), drinker of a good gin and tonic (not now obviously!), the maker of the best brownies and apple crumble you will ever eat (period).

My business came about because lots of Perth wedding vendors told me I’d be stupid not to and I don’t regret a thing. I absolutely love what I do and when you meet me in person you’ll see it is my absolute passion. My aim is to create something beautiful that runs smoothly and gives you as less stress as possible so you can have a glass of champers and enjoy your day.

WEDDING FAVOURS

They’re such a lovely nice to have but admittedly the last thing you should be thinking of when it comes to essentials and / or your budget.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
General rule of thumb is to keep it edible or drinkable or something that is so quintessentially you guys that it would be unthinkable not to include.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These cute little chocolate truffles were a lovely little addition that guests enjoyed after their dessert before they hit the dance floor and were a lovely entryway into the reception area.

THE WAY HE LOOKS AT HER
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If there is one thing I noticed as soon as I met this couple over zoom, was the way Kendrick looked at Thalia with such adoration. Watching them interact really was just the most BEAUTIFUL thing and the photos absolutely show just how much these two were in their own little love bubble.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re nervous in front of the camera I highly recommend an engagement photo or video session in advance of your wedding to get comfortable with each other. I say just ignore the photographer / videographer and concentrate on your partner. Talk about your morning, say what your favourite part of the ceremony was, laugh about how you didn’t sleep until 2am and remember why you’re doing this in the first place.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s when the candid laughing photos come out. The photo and video team will capture that authenticity straight away and you’ll have those happy memories forever.

P.S. And yes I cried when he saw her walking down the aisle…..and when he said his vows….and when they walked back up the aisle…basically I was a wreck and then I had to pull it together and get on to moving florals from the ceremony to the reception!!!

LIGHTING
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve always had an affinity for lighting and the way it completely changes a room. I absolutely love how these chandeliers make pretty shapes and shadows on the wall behind the bridal table. It just adds another layer of depth to the visual.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Coupling the chandeliers with the romantic candlelight dancing in the forefront brings such a warmth but what I love is that you don’t have to over do it. Strategically placed candles of different sizes, shapes and heights can elevate a tablescape in such a beautiful way to make it seem totally organic, like it was always supposed to be there.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Important to remember with bridal table lighting installations however to not block anyone’s faces being too low! Always check by sitting on a chair underneath to make sure you’ve got a good view. Then raise the chandelier another 2 - 4 inches.

When my bride sent me inspiration for her cake, I’m not going to lie it was a world renowned bakery in Singapore with the most exquisite cake designs.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It took a bit of research and comparison but I settled on Liz at . We had some sketches go back and forth but ultimately I let her go to town artistically and I’m so glad I did!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We really do have some incredible people here in WA and though we can get inspiration from overseas, trusting your vendors do what they do best having given them the inspo and the brief and then receiving what you do, you will honestly be blown away.

As a planner it’s my job to make sure we choose the right vendors for you, I don’t play favourites because I want to make sure it’s the right person for the job.

ERA When I got in contact with @mitchandtijana to see if they might be interested in doing the photo and video for this shoot, not 1 iota of me thought I would receive A) such stunning photos B) the most next level video I could have ever received. The music is what gets me. It absolutely encapsulates what this shoot was about. Something timeless, classy and epic. The NASA like talk just finishes it off.
