A personal reflection. Skip - or not?

Finally wrapped up the last wedding for Summer 2024. It’s been a year of so many new experiences - emotionally and physically. From being new home owners, learning how to reno, having some of the toughest fights in our marriage(so far!) to experiencing loss of a loved one for the first time all in the midst of shooting. As I work on editing all your wedding photos(and yes, the backlog is insane) - I caught a glimpse of how I was coping through it all.

I’m generally a type A person. Plan every detail, have a million back up plans to ease the anxiety I feel and get all the required shots on the day. But I found myself slowly embracing the unknown and appreciating the smallest things and details within the chaos. I honestly had no idea I was struggling until my shower drain was clogged from the amount of hair falling out. Perhaps the fact that I was feeling chaos internally, all I could do at that point was to find peace in the little things and push myself to keep going.

And well, sometimes life is like that. It’s sweet, warm, full of surprises and a little messy sometimes. But all the more beautiful because of this.
