Good things come in pairs!

Did you know that today is both a palindrome and a ambigram?
The date reads the same from left to right, right to left and upside down.
Today I get to hitch a whole lot of beautiful humans.
Some of them are eloping because covid ruined their plans, some because they want the same surname as their kids, some because they couldn’t afford the Marriage office, some just because they want to and some who have been together for 10 years and their priorities have changed.
Either way, today is the day that they get their happily ever after.
Can’t wait to make them all official. 💍

Cass emailed me one Sunday evening asking if I was free on the 12th Feb, 2022.
I sent her a quote and 💥 she booked me. Without seeing me, hearing me, meeting me, just full trust that she had the right person to hitch her and her Prince.
Easy and efficient to deal with, prompt response to emails and requests. Open to suggestions and every detail sorted.
Right down to trusting the suggestions being made at rehearsal and making last minute tweaks to ensure her day was perfect.
And it was exactly that!
The reason it was, she chose vendors that she trusted would do what she dreamed of and they executed perfectly on the day.
All under the clear guidance of this organised bride.
I give this girl a 5 star rating, even though that doesn’t quite seem enough!

Some news from Hitched by Kate!

As you know I have put a hold on bookings for 2022 and beyond and consequently have been moving from 5th gear back to about 2nd trying to concentrate on the wedding season ahead. It’s one of my biggest and busiest seasons.
However, from now I have very few exclusive dates for next year. I plan to keep my rego active for now but I will look forward to not working too many weekends for the first time in 8 years.
Hitched by Kate will be now focusing on family, good times, planning her next adventure and of course continuing to dream up her next business idea. Bigger and better I’m sure!
Can’t finish up this business until I marry a celebrity anyway and I’ve still got a few favourites to hitch. 😉

I’m not here to tell you to get vaccinated or not…I’m here to tell you that I chose to today!
Not for me, but for all the couples that want to get married.
For all the vendors who want to feel safe working alongside me.
Or those unfortunate few who leave us and want to have their funeral with all their loved ones present.
Or for kids to enjoy their first year of school with their friends.
Or celebrate their last year of school and be proud of their results because they worked hard AT SCHOOL.
Or so my kids can be reunited with their grandparents and cousins or so I can meet my best friends babies (now toddlers).
Or celebrate big birthdays or anniversaries or ‘just because’ occasions.
Or travel the world without the fear of restrictions, lockdowns, red zones or a 14 day quarantine.
Or so we can enjoy events like footy, festivals, conferences or concerts with as much fun as they’re intended to be.
Everyone has their own story, challenges and situations.
Remember, we are one, but we are many! 🇦🇺

It’s Friday and I’m in love!
Humbled and grateful....❤️

We knew Kate was our gal from the moment we met. It was like we had known her for years and were overdue for a drink. She is naturally affectionate, funny and caring. Kate actively listens to her couples in order to make their ceremony everything they could hope for. She is exceptionally knowledgeable and made each step of the process enjoyable for the both of us. As a teacher myself, I certainly appreciated Kate’s organisation. She is punctual and identifies the little things which make each ceremony unique and personal. Could not recommend Kate more highly. She absolutely nailed our ceremony and we could not be more grateful for the time she put in to perfecting it. When she gets a night off, we hope to catch her at the Old Laundry for a drink. Thanks Kate. You were awesome!
