To all our loyal customers,
We have here in W.A. up to this point been very lucky in regards the affect that the Covid pandemic has had throughout the Western Australian community.
Unfortunately, and predictably, we are now starting to experience some negative consequences of this world wide pandemic, on how we run our business. The main problem we are dealing with presently is the massive increase in cost of imported flowers into Australia.
Jesson Flowers have always tried to source and use locally grown flowers, but in the previous decade this has become increasingly difficult, as growers leave the industry, and those remaining growers find it difficult to service the demand; consequently, increasing the prices of locally grown flowers.
Over the previous year in an effort to keep our flowers affordable Jesson Flowers have absorbed the majority of these increasing costs. We have recently been informed that freight costs especially regarding roses, are to dramatically increase over the Christmas and the Valentine Day periods, to unprecedented levels.
Unfortunately, due to the โCovid Economyโ these high price increases appear to be a new reality. In response, importers are decreasing their orders, which will inevitably cause a rose shortage, and a further price hike.
Without doubt, this is going to be problematic for those customers who want to order and purchase roses for both Christmas and Valentineโs Day. Due to these extraordinary circumstances, we feel it necessary to inform, and to explain to all of our customers, the situation Jesson Flowers and the majority of florists are facing. As always Jesson flowers will strive to offer alternative flowers, at reasonable prices.
We apologise for any disappointment and frustration this may cause.
We thank you for your understanding and patience with us during these busy times ๐ป
