Welcome to 2025!

Thank you to all my clients that have booked me over the past 19 years as Groovy Entertainment and continue to support my small business by promoting me to your friends for their special days or occasions.

Coming into 27 years of DJing (yes I started back in 1998 while I was finishing my Bachelor of Education Degree) I am blessed to have been able to share my love and my knowledge of music with some many people.

I don't have any awards to show for it - I'm honestly not interested in any of the industry awards as the majority are pay to be included or you don't get considered. For me on a personal level - I don't need an award to know that I have been doing this for 27 years and 27 years on, people still want to book me for their special day. I've outlasted many companies that have come on the scene made a splash and then disappeared. Why is that the case? Because I listen to what my clients want and I give them to the best of my ability the dream day they want. This is all the recognition I need - not to be Australia's #1 DJ.

Gavin was everything we wanted in a DJ/MC. He was friendly and professional, kept the timings and everything on track for the night. Gavin made some great suggestions both in the planning stage and on the night and kept us up to date with everything on the night which was great. And there were never any issues with my “unscheduled toilet breaks”! Haha!. Thanks again Gavin you were awesome. Would absolutely recommend you.

You may have recently noticed that the WA Wedding Awards have been opened for people to vote on. Why have I not advertised this or promoted this on my pages...

I am always thrilled to be nominated by my brides and grooms for this award - something I will always be grateful for. However, I am not one that is really interested in paying for the opportunity to potentially win and then be able to post an image on my pages. Well done to all those that are worthy recipients of this award as there are many amazing suppliers that deserve the recognition they get in winning this award.

My personally feelings -
Does this recognise or reflect the hard work I put into all my clients - No.
Does this reflect the experience and professionalism that I put into my events - No.

The best way you can best promote me if you love what I have done at your function is to refer me to your friends and family. I don't need the status of a badge or an award to know that I have survived in this industry for over 26 years servicing nearly 3000 clients and that I am still doing the amazing professional service that all my clients deserve.

Here at Groovy Entertainment, not only do we provide the sound system, lights and music for your night to be a success, but at no additional cost to you, we provide Master of Ceremony planning and MC services on the night as part of your price.

No need to hire an extra person to do it - save your money for your honeymoon and just trust that I will run your show and co-ordinate with all your vendors on the night and that I will keep things happening when we planned them to.

Some amazing feed back from a very hot January wedding night from Charlotte and Nick -

Gavin was very professional throughout the whole process and was very easy to get in contact with, anytime we needed to. As soon as we met up with him, we knew he would be a great fit for us, and he was, he created a great atmosphere for our wedding. He made the perfect playlist for us based on our requests, kept everyone dancing all night and we didn’t have to worry about the music at any point. He also did an awesome job of MCing and kept the whole event flowing smoothly according to our timeline. We would absolutely recommend Gavin for anyone’s wedding or event, and we would definitely use him again if we required a DJ for anything - he was awesome!
