Sadly, the caterpillars got the best of our winter flowers and the freshly growing spring flowers... Growing flowers based on organic principles is a learning experience, and although we have learnt the hard way this year, we are making lemonade out of the lemons... Whilst we have no flowers to sell at the moment, we are making improvements to the patches and nurturing seedlings. Watch this space. We will have some blooms soon!

Another aspect of our lives that takes great determination, dedication, and resiliance is our middle son's running activities. Although my husband and I spend a great deal of time facilitating his experience, our son puts in the major effort. Training, looking after his nutrition, sleeping properly, maintaining his school work and casual job around his huge commitment to training and competing, and dealing with the highs and lows of good and bad running days. This carnival is in Brisbane and I am so happy it stopped raining!! We are so grateful to everyone that contributes to his achievements and feel so lucky that he has this opportunity.

No flowers at . Sorry, there will be no flowers tomorrow. We are currently dealing with another caterpillar disaster... please be patient.

This cute little flower truck is for sale, somewhere in the world - I have suggested to my husband next time he is looking for gift ideas - this is a great one!! (I don't like my chances 😉 ) This would make a lovely addition to our local community market stall - if you haven't visited or even if you have, get yourself along to on Saturday between 8 and 11am. All sorts of wonderful local produce available.

Flower Friday bunches in store

Who doesn't love Flower Friday?! 😀 We have some gorgeous sweet peas at the moment. I used to grow these in Tasmania. The scent is amazing. Growing them in Queensland is a lot different. We have a short window here. These gorgeous sweet peas have come from my friend's farm nearby. You will find a cute little posy of them for sale today .

Just a few bunches in store today, so pop in and grab them before they sell out. The wind hasn't been kind to the flowers this week...

Sometimes, you get a glimpse of what is to come, and it can make your week! I have been nurturing these drumstick plants for months. This is our first bloom. Some lucky recipient will find it in a bunch this week. Thanks to the weather gods for keeping it alive during the howling wind we had earlier this week!

P.S. Excuse the weeds, I am getting to them! 😉

Can you believe at this time of year, I am often preparing for frost??? Certainly not this year!! Lots of incredibly beautiful blooms. We are in another transition phase... I love how I can tell what time of year it is by the flowers we have blooming...

Pop in to see Erin tomorrow (and if there are any left, she will be open on Saturday too) at , she will have some extra bunches for sale if you didn't get an opportunity to pre-order!

Happy Flower Friday! We have some unicorns (rare) at Swing By Speciality Coffee today, some cute little posies... In winter, we don't get as many flowers suitable for posies so snap these up while they are available. There are also so many beautiful generous bunches available. Pop in for a bunch and a cuppa before they sell out!

How can I be angry at this cute little bloke (an echidna, we see him regularly in winter) for digging up the ranunculus this year? We battle weather and creatures daily to grow flowers! It's a wonderful lesson that not everything goes to plan, nor is it possible to have total control. We do our best to work with nature...

Farm pest management... we grow using organic principles, so these creatures are very important. They love to eat snails and slugs... and unfortunately for me poppies!!! 😉

A flashback to some of last year's gorgeous stock! And, one of our gorgeous sons!

Our early stock is short, but the scent is still delightful. The fragrance is a mix of cloves, cinnamon, and vanilla.

Did you know?? We only get one bloom for each plant we grow. This makes stock one of the most expensive flowers to grow.
