I went to the Police academy with Laurence Barlow one of the toughest dedicated professional police officers you could imagine. And he was a great bloke to boot. He has asked me to share his most recent post. Please share voice your concerns to radio hoists, local State and Federal Politicians anyone you think could help. Here is his post......... 15 years ago a violent drug addict on parole for 3 weeks with a prior history of attempting to murder 2 women, entered my world uninvited and tried to kill my wife as she walked to work. He was strung out, needed cash for he**in and bashed her with a brick until in his words during a police record of interview he thought he had killed her. It was estimated he hit her in the head as many as 20 times.
He left her to die in a public park whilst people walked past and did nothing. (Another story - read our book LEFT FOR DEAD.)
Our life spiralled out of control, 2 police careers came to an end, and if not for the incredible actions of highly skilled medical experts and some intervention from God my wife would be dead.
This piece of human excrement is having a parole hearing next week.
We - the victims were not even advised he was up for parole.
At a time of unprecedented bi-lateral support by State and Federal politicians to actively do something to reduce violence against women how does something like this happen?
We found out from a trusted source that this was happening and have until Tuesday to make ourselves heard.
Will it really take another violent action and possibly the death of an innocent woman before something is done against this animal?
Feel free to share with everyone you know - the more noise the better - the more people who are aware this piece of filth is back on the streets the better so when he re-offends he can be returned to where he belongs and hopefully the Judge will be strong enough to sentence him to "NEVER TO BE RELEASED".

Today was a pretty special day. I got to marry the grand daughter of my mentor when I was in my previous profession. He was an incredible supervisor and a father figure to me. Simply an incredible man. He passed a few years ago. So to be able to perform the ceremony I’m sure he would be up there smiling. Miss you Johnny rest in peace. Congratulations Ash and Zac.

Thank you for your service.
