Throwback to 2018 to my own wedding 💍

Knowing what I know now, having worked in the wedding industry more, there's so much I would have done differently. Don't get me wrong, we LOVED everything about our wedding day. A picturesque Winter's day in the heart of the Hunter Valley.

So why would I change anything? Well back then, I was under the assumption that DIYing was cheaper than hiring. Boy was I wrong. Here's why:

💲our budget blew out exponentially!

🕐 It took so much longer to set everything up in the few weeks leading up to it than anticipated

👥 Our family and close friends were required to help us in the days leading up to the wedding to mow the fields, move furniture, clean, fold napkins, and so so much more...

🥵 It was exhausting trying to get everything ready in time, and the wedding hadn't even happened yet.

Then the wedding day came around..

👎 Our family were still setting up things in the morning instead of relaxing, having their hair done and having a champagne with me

🧹 The days of cleaning and packing away meant we couldn't just jet off on our honeymoon and relax

All these things and MORE could have been totally avoided had we just hired vendors to come in and set everything up for us. We probably would have spent the same amount of money, but we and our families wouldn't have had the stress and work to do before and after the day.

So if you're wanting a stress-free day, I highly recommend finding your ideal vendor team to bring your vision to life so you can just walk into your wedding day and enjoy it 💯

🎼Think about "your" songs - Start with songs that are already meaningful to you both.
🎼Reflect on shared moments and milestones - find music that captures the feelings from those moments

Hi, I'm Anna! I'm so excited to celebrate love in all its beautiful forms. Here's a little about my journey and why I love being a celebrant!

I am a mum to 2 beautiful boys, George and Hamish 🩵🩵 I married my high school sweetheart, Zac, in 2018 💍 I'm a teacher, the Operations Manager at White Barn Pokolbin and a Marriage Celebrant 🤍

Teaching has given me the perfect skills to rally and direct your guests to where they need to be and the organisation skills to keep your planning and wedding day flowing smoothly.

I cherish my family with all that I have and since joining the wedding industry as a young adult, what I love the most is seeing the beauty and support of everyone's family and friends who turn up to celebrate such a special moment with each couple and all of the raw emotion and love that comes with it!

I have a genuine love for meeting new people and sharing stories and experiences with people, opportunities that you don't get in many other professions.

An intimate elopement on your mind?

My amazing neighbours asked me back in August to officiate their elopement but they had no idea what they wanted or where to start. But in 10 short weeks we pulled off a beautiful and relaxed elopement ceremony on her parents property followed by a BBQ with their family. Even the rain passed at the perfect time ✨
