Our Story

Opened in 2002, Flames of the Forest’s quest is to take guests on a journey outside of the hotel or town restaurant and into the natural environment of the rain forest.

Working in conjunction with the local Kuku Yalanji, the Aboriginal Cultural experience takes guests a journey through food, wine and culture. Featuring a locally inspired and produced menu coupled with a selection of sparkling, red and white wine and Australian beer, this is an evening not to be missed by those seeking an authentic, intimate interaction with Australia’s oldest living culture.

Throughout the evening you will be inspired by two local Indigenous brothers sharing their history, story and passion for the rain forest, so you may take home a piece of their culture and share it with others.

Take this spiritual journey with us, fill your belly and your soul and, explore, through your mind, something new by way of the stories of another.
