Beach to Brother

SUNDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 2024
Run or walk 5km, 10km or 21km through the beautiful trails and pathways of the Port Macquarie region.

Or run 42km alone or in a team-relay of 2-4 people. Beach to Brother is a series of runs on the Mid-North Coast of NSW all finishing on the top of North Brother Mountain in the Dooragan National Park, Laurieton. The runs take you along coastal pathways, tracks, trails, beaches, and up through the Dooragan National Park. The marathon starts from Port Macquarie Town Beach; the half marathon starts from Lake Cathie, and the 10km starts from Camden Head.

A huge ahout out to our Coast Cardiology run sweeps for 2024. They made it fun from the outset despite having a challenging role. They completed the marathon course and motivated people, had to withdraw people, tended to medical scenarios, pulled down course marking, and literally pushed the final participants across the finish line. Whoop whoop. We applaud you!

IMPORTANT 5KM ANNOUNCEMENT

The 5km event starts at the grass reserve on the junction of Tunis and McLennan St, Laurieton, adjacent Vince Inmon Sporting Complex. Race starts at 9.30am sharp!

Our registration team are sooooo good at their job that they manage to talk people collecting their bibs into upgrading events. Three strong women have taken the challenge so far, upgrading from the 21k to the 42k. Well done Katie Bussell, Margaret Gordon and Emma Rourke.

Endless amounts of water and electrolytes will be on the course this Sunday. Make sure you have a bottle at hand to refill along the way! Weather is looking good, but dehydration can hit fast if you're not managing yourself properly!

Situated no more than a few hundred metres off the marathon course is Rainforest Cafe Port Macquarie. It's simply sensational!

You can take a stroll through the Sea Acres Nature Reserve Walk (build an appetite), pick up a souvenir from the rainforest centre shop, and then sit down, stretch out your legs and experience quality service and quality food and drinks in the cafe.

Why would anyone want to leave! No wonder Port Macquarie is know by the locals as Paradise!
