On Thursday, I got to see her for the first time and that moment is hard to describe. It is more than checking all is as it should be. For me, it is about whether its energy is as I hoped.

As I am writing a book, gathering my lessons on fear and courage, the book starts to beat with its own heart and the stories you share with me become woven in to its fabric along the way. There is much power in this stitching.

When the manuscript is almost together I begin to tell the book what it is going out there to achieve and how to find its people. May sound silly to some but if you know, you know. And if you don’t, remember, magic or ‘woo-woo’, is just science we can’t yet explain.

So the getting her in my hands matters hugely… because just as when we give birth and see the face of your child for the first time, there is a recognition, an ‘I already know you’ and a coming home. Not quite as monumental, but not so different. Authors may relate? Or anyone who has created anything from the soul - which is so many of us. Thank goodness!

Many of you will know the courage this journey has required from me and the courage it has created for me too. Like two streams of light, ghostbusters-style - my own brave and the brave we are all awarded by the universe have come together and crossed… and here she is.

There is much of you too; if you have shared with me along the way, do not doubt, you are in here. In fact, the two streams of ghostbusters-style energy, also applies to the energy of this book - she’s is a mix of me and each of you who have shared your stories so openly with me.
My friends, here she is. She is one week away from being in your hands and the pre-orders matter because it is how the publishing world judges a book and will determine its passageway into stores (bookshops means the world to - my happy place - I know many of you agree).

I hope this book will be a friend in your next chapter as well as my own.

Looking forward to learning all things reels

For anyone who manages social media for a business (or workplace), I’m hosting a workshop on Wednesday where I’ll be teaching you how to create video content for Instagram Reels (and/or TikTok, Facebook).

I’ll show you how you can easily do this on a desktop computer, to save you time, and then upload it via your phone. This workshop is specifically focused on the ‘how to’ of creating your video for social media, so we’ll be doing some ‘light’ editing, using multiple video files to create one, adding text, using music and uploading it to Instagram.

So, if social media video content is something you’d like to post but are finding it too hard or too time consuming, join us on Wednesday at the Devonport library.
