🔦ARTIST SPOTLIGHT🔦

Australia's Esher, boasts a rich history and sonic tapestry in his music career.

Growing up, Esher (Darcy O'Loughlin) was neck deep in the Tasmanian hardcore and heavy metal scene. Esher played the guitar in many metal bands including what is now known as Gravemind.

Eventually Esher drifted into DNB at the age of 15. Inspired first by triple X by subfocus and later by Xsetra, live at dragon dreaming festival. This is what kick started his pursuit for music production.

Drawing upon influences such as Mad Zach, Ivy Lab, Noisia, Buunshin and Burial, Esher sought to deliver striking rhythm, enveloping melodies and sonic experiences that transport the listener elsewhere.

What started off as a grass roots based project playing in small dive bars and smokey rooms, over time, Esher has started to build a name for himself supporting the likes of Chrissy Chris, Camo & Crooked, Subsonic, Mefjus, Netsky, Sub Focus, Andy C and Hybrid Minds

Esher first release, The Imposter made it straight to Spotify's Dnb Massive playlist. His follow up track 'Monk' saw success on OneSevenFour's annual compilation V.A.
Since then he has gone strength to strength, extending his reach to the around the globe having releases on Phase Records and the revered Onset Audio.

We are now awaiting the next chapter from Esher with it's home here on Magnum Opus.

Australia's Esher arrives on Onset with an EP of minimal steppers born in inky blackness. Sparse percussion rides over textured midrange and dissonant pads. The Suspended EP reanimates on August 2nd.
