Home Hill Winery is nestled in the picturesque Huon Valley, a short thirty-minute drive south of Hobart. With stunning views of the surrounding vines, pastures, livestock and mountains, we are a country retreat where our guests enjoy the quite peacefulness of this paradise away from the hustle and bustle. With award-winning wines and a delicious menu in our restaurant which reflects our proud Tasmanian heritage, Home Hill is open for lunch each day and our cellar door from 10am to 5pm.

We had a very special visitor today, 101 year old Brian Winspear. It was such a pleasure to meet him and he is one of the last surviving veterans who fought for Australia in WWll.

Home Hill Winery Proprietor Terry Bennett tells their story behind the name:
“My wife Rosemary and I were driving from Cairns to Noosa and it was on this trip that we agreed the next town we drove through would be the name of our winery – at which point we drove through the lovely town of Home Hill, and the name fit perfectly. Our family home of many years sits on the hill above our vineyard where we are able to take in the expansive views of vines, making the name even more fitting. We were incredibly excited and grateful when approached to be involved in the inaugural Feast by the Field and look forward to a variety of our wine being showcased in the town of its namesake."

Home Hill’s Cottage accomodation is available this week. This beautiful 1920 cottage has been beautifully renovated.
The bedrooms have a queen size, double and two singles.
French doors open to the most stunning garden, with the 100 year old Oak tree making a commanding statement of grace and tranquility.
Cost per night for a couple $300 for every other person $100.
Two nights minimum stay.
A Home Hill cheese platter provided by host on arrival.
Amenities:
Parking for two cars
Luxury bath and shower
Washing machine and dryer
Milk, eggs, jam, butter, coffee, tea, local fruit and Summer Kitchen bread.
Flat screen television but not connected to WIFI at the moment.
The cottage is not children friendly and no pets allowed.

Before the Taste begins tomorrow, we just wanted to take a moment say THANK YOU to all of you who have sent us messages of support, liked our posts, shared our content and helped to spread the word about this little festival in the Huon Valley that we love so much.
After sadly having to pull the pin on the 2021 event due to impossible Covid restrictions, we have been overwhelmed by the love of the community on this Facebook group and beyond.
When you arrive tomorrow, you will notice the festival is a little smaller than past years as many local businesses have either sadly folded due to the impact of the last difficult few years, or were unable to staff their stalls due to staffing/hospitality issues as a result of the pandemic.
BUT, we've fought hard to still bring you the best of the Huon and Channel regions that we could possibly muster and we hope you truly enjoy the festival this year.
