Many traditional wedding customs date back to Paganism...
👰🏼 The wearing of the veil, the bride would wear a colourful veil to protect herself from harmful spirits.
💍 The exchange of rings or another token of affection such as a bracelet or necklace.
🤝Handfasting, the bride and groom join hands as a blessed ribbon is wound between the hands to symbolize their joining.
🧹 Jumping the Besom (broom)while holding hands to represent the union. The Handfasting cord can then be adorned on the broom and kept at the front door of the home for protection.

❦ SAND CEREMONY... a variation of the unity candle ceremony, is a tradition full of symbolism. Two people take sand from their individual vessels and combine the grains into one. The act represents the joining of two individuals and the creation of a new union and family.

❦ WISHING STONES...Before the ceremony starts the Celebrant hands out wishing stones to all the guests who during the ceremony hold the stone in the palm of their hands and make a wish for the couple.
After the ceremony the guests are invited to place their stones into a glass jar. When all the stones are in the jar, the jar is sealed and becomes a keepsake for the couple representing the wishes of all their family and friends.
