Rockhampton Regional Council is calling for Expressions of interest for a Creative Director and vocalists for the popular concerts.

The Creative Director is responsible for the overall artistic vision of the show and for bringing it all together from first rehearsal through to opening night.

Vocalists are also required to perform a variety of traditional and contemporary Christmas carols and songs.

‘Let me explain…’ is a live performance; part science lesson, part comedy, part social revolution, passionately delivered in front of projections of colourful, exciting close-up photos of weird and wonderful critters. Over an hour and a half we’ll explore where Gone Buggo came from, where it’s going, and why it matters to everyone, whether they like bugs or not. Suitable for all ages.

The Taste of the World Cultural Festival’s headline act is Australia’s acclaimed world music sensation MZAZA, performing their show The Birth and Death of Stars. Described as ‘an exhilarating musical odyssey’; the show is a combination of music, history, and culture.

'The Visitors' is an award-winning new play that looks at the arrival of the First Fleet from an Indigenous perspective and asks 'what if that moment was different?'
Written by Muruwari playwright Jane Harrison, directed by Quandamooka man Wesley Enoch, The Visitors provides an insight into the way communities respond to change and the unknown.

The Play is a co-production between Moogahlin Performing Arts and Sydney Theatre Company won awards for Best Mainstage Production and Best Ensemble at the 2023 Sydney Theatre Awards.

Presented by Rockhampton Regional Council.

The latest round of the Rockhampton Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is now open and applications are being sought for projects that will commence from mid September.

RADF is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Rockhampton Regional Council, supporting professional artists and arts practice in regional areas. It covers projects that enhance the arts on a local level by providing financial assistance to support artists’ professional development or increase artists’ employment opportunities.

Applications close on Wednesday 21 August 2024.

Flipside Circus is conducting a range of circus workshops to supercharge the school holidays in September.

Whether it’s tackling the trapeze or harnessing the hula-hoop, your kids will have a blast at Flipside Circus’ workshops.

No matter what your child’s skill level, Flipside Circus trainers will help them learn new circus skills and give them a chance to show off.

There are three age level workshops: 2-4 years, 5-8 years and 9-16 years.
Workshops are held from 24-26 September at the Robert Schwarten Pavilion.

Ted Prior’s celebrated picture-book character, Grug, will be brought to life on stage in in August.
Ted Prior’s Grug books were first published in 1979, with the 35th in the series published in 2020. Grug continues to enchant 2-6 year olds and their parents to this day.
Grug began his life as the top of a Burrawang tree that fell to the ground. Resembling a small, striped haystack with feet and a nose, Grug is fascinated by the world around him and solves everyday problems creatively and without fuss.
