To be Loved
** Watch in HD **
We love that we are able to capture fleeting moments and freeze them in time forever. It is the power of the camera, and something that we never take for granted. We hope this video helps little Bonnie remember in the future just how loved she really is.
Annie & Charlie
We are less than 30 days away from leaving for our Australia trip to spend 12 months traveling around our beautiful country!! We are so excited to hit the road, but we are not quite prepared just yet..
We want to make sure that we can capture our trip to the absolute best of our ability, and after lots of discussions and experiments, we have decided to broaden our horizons and look outside of still photography.
This does not mean we are going to become professional videographers and offer it within our services, but we want to tell our journey around Australia in ways that photos just cannot capture. We want to capture all of the feels, all of the roadblocks (literally and metaphorically) and all of the the rewarding moments that come our way.
Therefore, we are starting to experiment now before we leave on our trip. On the weekend, Annie & Charlie kindly allowed us to use them as our guinnea pigs to test out some new camera toys and get a feel for motion picture.
Please let us know what you think about this little clip, and if it something you'd like to see more of in the future :)

3 Days, 1 Wedding
8 hours. An entire day at work. Run a marathon. Fly to Asia. Or even capture a wedding day. For us though, capturing 8 hours of your day is simply not enough! We have realised that capturing the ENTIRE experience can often be much more rewarding. That is why we offer a package documenting your entire wedding weekend, just think of how many marathons you could run in that (don’t worry, we won’t make you run!)?!!
We want to capture those exciting nerves that come out the day before, the epic (and not-so-epic) dance moves at the party, and the stories that are shared the morning after when everyone is in recovery mode. We want to make the most of one of the biggest celebrations of your life with all your closest family and friends there to share it with!
We understand that no two souls are the same, just as no two weddings are the same. That’s why you have the flexibility to choose what you want captured in the surrounding days. An intimate photoshoot with you and your partner, a hike to the nearest mountain peak, or a big family picnic, we are excited to capture what means the most to you.
Daisy & the Duke are not your average weddings photographers, and we are here for more than your average wedding. All for a smaller price tag than you might think. Check out our packages list and get in touch today Australia-wide.

3 weddings in 1 week
Last September we had a very crazy week that we feel like we have only just recovered from! We photographed 3 beautiful weddings in one week. It doesn’t seem like a big deal, but when the middle wedding is located in another country (with a pending volcano eruption) it made things it a bit more interesting! We had such a fun but hectic week, and we decided to make a little video of the adventures we had during this time.

Best of 2017

We have finally finished going over the thousands and thousands of photos we took this year to put together a summary of 2017! While it has been so hard to condense 20 weddings, 18 couples photoshoots and 14 trips away, these are the photos that mean the most to us. These are the moments that shaped our year to be so incredible, and we are grateful for all of the amazing people we met along the way and for now getting to call so many of them our friends.

My Mother
I am the first to admit that I find social media hard! It’s days like this where I am torn between what is right and what is wrong, what is good for business and what is too personal. One thing I do know is that Daisy & the Duke is about being upfront and honest. With that being said, I am wanting to open up about something that we have been going through lately, something that has brought me tears of sadness and tears of joy all weekend long.
Early this year we informed everyone that a family member was sadly diagnosed with the big C (f**k you cancer), and just this past week sees us saying fair well to a truly remarkable woman that I only got to share the past 26 years with. This week has brought our family closer and we have shared a lot of stories and memories that I will never forget.
The reason I feel this is so important to share, is to highlight the importance of holding on to photos. As a wedding photographer I take for granted that we get welcomed into so many families to document EVERYONE (not just the bride and groom), and this week has seen me digging through old albums and scanning and restoring a lot of old photos. Never have I felt the true power of a photo until now!
Because of this, my one request to everyone reading this is to just take more photos. It doesn’t matter if they are dodgy iPhone selfies or proper portraits, just document moments when they unfold. These moments might seem simple or even unimportant when you capture them, but as time passes, they become more significant. So take the photo, share the photo with your friends and family, and make sure it’s backed up somewhere safe. These photos that I have restored are now some of my most treasured possessions, and I’m so glad I have them to remember my mum by.
We will be switching off for a couple of days to spend with family, so until you hear from us next, hug everyone who is important to you.
Lots of love,
Sid

The Yes Car
This past week has seen us come home from our second wedding in New Zealand for this year, and our third visit to the magical country. The realisation of this accomplishment has made us look back on where it all started, and the funny thing is that it came from saying yes to a photoshoot that we did a few years ago.
When it comes to the way we look at weddings we bring the same mentality, it’s always a yes! As we edge closer to leaving for our adventure around Australia next year, we are so excited for what opportunities we are yet to say YES to!
We are Daisy & the Duke
In just 13 months time, Daisy & the Duke is embarking on the biggest, scariest thing we have ever done. Our Australian road trip is commencing in August 2018! We are going to embark upon an amazing adventure, turning Daisy & the Duke into a roaming photography business (in our vintage caravan Lilah) and traveling all around Australia for 12 months.
Not only are we ridiculously excited about this adventure, but we are also scared silly, to say the least. As we travel we will be photographing only 15 weddings along the way, with the hopes to produce a visual depiction of Australian romance from all of the corners of our great land.
The dream is to combine our love of documenting weddings and showcasing unique couples with the use of our camera in all the different locations around Australia. From the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge all the way to Uluru, and everything in between.
So if you are getting married in a far corner of Australia, or are doing something a little out of the ordinary for your wedding, send us a message! Or if you know someone who would love to hear more about our road trip, share this or tag them below. We need everyone’s help to make this dream become a reality for us.

Daisy & the Duke
Instead of posting a photo today of an incredible couple who’s wedding we have just photographed, we thought we’d share something a bit more personal, so you can get to know who we are as people.
We are Callena & Sid: two lovers on an adventure to capture all the amazing people we find while we hide our quirks behind the lens of a camera. We are aware that choosing your wedding photographer can be difficult when its based on packages and prices, so we like to look at it as who you best get along with. Seeing as you share many emotional moments on the big day with your photographer, it helps when you think of them as your friends with a camera.
So here it is, this is the true Daisy & the Duke, just two big goof balls in love. If you like what you see, send us an email to say hi. We only have limited spots for 2018 Brisbane weddings!
Changing of the office
2017, we are so excited to greet you, and happy to say that we are back in our office after a lovely break!
With the new year comes new plans and new lists of things to tick off. The exciting thing is that a new year also brings with it new photos. Now we are sharing with you the famous changing of the wall, a tradition that not many get to see. We want to always surround ourselves with the photos that make us smile, photos that make us want to push further, and photos that we are proud of!
So with that being said, 2017 we are ready! We have some fantastic weddings, engagement shoots and a lot of travel in the mix, and we are so excited for every second of it!

Our favourite Memories
With Christmas just around the corner, it’s at at this time of year that most photographers put out their collection of their hit photos, but we have instead compiled the photos of the moments that we can’t stop talking about. 365 days, 83 photoshoots. 36 of them being weddings. It was so hard to keep this (kind of) short and sweet, but we managed to do it.

Liquid Eye Housing
We ordered something in the mail a little while ago, and when it finally arrived last week, it had us acting like excited little kids on Christmas morning (apologies to the mailman who had to hand it over to us - our excitement may have been a bit overwhelming!). This incredible underwater camera-house is a pretty big deal for us, we have been wanting one for a very long time! So we just couldn’t pass up an opportunity to make yet another dorky video of Sid, who dropped everything to play with it the second it arrived.
We woke up early this morning and drove all the way to the gold coast just to jump in the water and experiment a bit more. We can’t wait to start offering Land + Sea photoshoots to all of those adventurous couples out there!

Sid goes for a swim
We know how to take nice photos.... but we are still getting the hang of the whole “ducking for waves” thing 😉
Taking our photography to the next level has been a huge goal of ours for a while, and we are excited to now be able to do that! With summer just around the corner (although it already feels like its here in all it’s blistering glory), we are excited to now start offering land+water based photoshoots!
Now it’s time to start exploring the beautiful South-East QLD for some gorgeous beaches and rivers. What are your favourite water locations?
A big thank you to Alex Bowden for capturing this hilarious but gorgeous footage while we photographed Andy surfing with his groomsmen at Fingal Beach.

Lilah Booth
When Lilah first came into our hands, she was a little bent out of shape and a little rough around the edges, but with a bit (okay, actually alot) of TLC we have brought her back to life and given her the new shine she deserves. Now she is truly beautiful on both the inside and out!
As something that was meant to be a quick reno job, we admit this announcement has come a bit later than we originally planned. It has taken us 278 days, 7 incredible sets of helping hands (but we haven’t heard from them since, odd), 1806 photos, and way too much blood, sweat and tears (so, so many tears) to complete the job. But better late than never, as we are now proud to unveil Lilah’s new identity…..
Our beautiful 1958 vintage Sunliner is now able to come along with us to weddings as a seriously awesome instant print Photo Booth! With her unique look she is sure to send heads turning when she rolls up to your beautiful wedding venue. Yes, she may be older than the two of us (combined), but she will be a truly memorable addition to any great event, and will capture all the fun and joy had by your partying guests! So if you can picture Lilah rolling up to your wedding or next event, what are you waiting for?! Get in touch with us now to find out more :)
