I am reaching out to you on behalf of a very special cause that is close to our hearts. For Keeps and Uber Hair & Co are hosting fundraising event on July 20th at the Richmond Club to support Huxley and his family during this challenging time.
Huxley is a courageous one-year-old boy who is bravely fighting an aggressive cancer. What started as a normal and joyful childhood took a sudden turn when he was diagnosed with a malignant rhabdoid tumor in his left lung. Despite undergoing intensive treatments, the tumor has continued to grow, posing a serious threat to his young life.
As a community, we have come together to organize an evening of fun, trivia, raffles, and a silent auction to raise funds for Huxley and his family. The event will begin at 6 pm, with an opportunity to enjoy dinner at the Villago restaurant before the activities kick off at 7 pm.

In 2022, my best mate asked me to be his Groomswoman, simple answer... HECK YES !!!
In September 2023, I awoke to find out that they had decided to elope. I knew it was in the cards and laughed about my "sick invite" 🤣🤣 but as I was preserving her bouquet 💐 I realised I was sad because I was robbed of gifting them my Groomswoman speech (or maybe this is why the eloped 😜)
So May & Riz, here it is...
"I hadn't known May for very long but when she described my bone headed best mate as a delicious golden brown crossiant 🥐🤢 I knew she either had to be crazy in love or just crazy 🤪 I did the eye check and yup 😍😍 not crazy eyes (phew).
What I do know about her is that she's intelligent, articulate beautiful and she makes my best friend happy, and honestly, that's all I could ask for him.
Now, traditionally, I should use this speech to recall an embarrassing story from our misspent youth. But instead, May I want to share 2 quick stories, so you know what you've gotten yourself into:
1. Back when we ran together, one day, I stacked, grazed my leg, hurt my ankle, and Riz was there yelling at me to get up to keep going. I got up. I ran, and I beat my PB, grazed knee, and all.
There are going to be times in life and in your marriage when I have no doubt that things will hurt like a graze knee or worse. But I promise you he will be there to push you to be your best at every step. He might yell at you to get up, but I also know that if you can't, he'll carry you.
2. Know that he loves you and knew this day would come from the moment he met you. I know because once he met you, we had to have lunch to talk about you 🤣🤣"

I've never been in a room where so many strangers came together to uplift and support one another. Last night's award ceremony brought around 140 people under one roof, and what unfolded was nothing short of electric. Pregnancy loss and infant death are topics that are often left unspoken in our society, for understandable reasons. It's a subject that's laced with sadness and discomfort. However, these experiences affect 1 in 4 women and their partners. It's time to break the silence and start the conversation because your friends and family might be in need of your love and understanding.
I am one of those 1 in 4. My journey includes heartache from early miscarriage, a profound loss in our second trimester, and the joy of welcoming our rainbow baby, Elena. We hold her sisters' ashes close at home, encapsulated in a delicate purple butterfly necklace.
We stand together with all those who have experienced the loss of a child, which includes miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, ectopic pregnancy, termination for medical reasons, and the death of a newborn. 💔💜
Let's remember those little ones who left us too soon and offer support and compassion to those who carry the weight of this grief. You are not alone. 🌈

The facelift your flowers deserve?
Preservation works best when flowers are fresh. 24-48 hours after the occasion is ideal. This allows the cell structure of the flowers to still be able to uptake the chemicals needed for preservation.
After this time, it is still possible to preserve the techniques, just change as does the end outcome.
Restoration occurs once the flowers are already dry. In this situation they were preserved years ago and had the glass damaged.
At this point, the process is about
- fumigation for micro and macro organisms (eg. Mould and insects)
- colour enhancement (an attempt to restore original colours and or vibrancy)
- flower reshaping and manipulation (trying to un-shrivel flowers)
- reconstructing and placement of the flowers in the arrangement
Restoration is a labour of love and extremely time-consuming with it taking 3-4 hours per flowers just in reshaping and colour enhancement. It is also extraordinary satisfying to see the end result, as I'm sure you can agree from the photos 🥰🤩
